Chapter 5

Rinkan University.

Ye Yu slipped onto campus effortlessly.

It took him only a few minutes to locate Fuutaro's classroom.

He activated his ability.

Concealment!

This power was far superior to simple invisibility. Ye Yu could selectively make anyone weaker than him completely ignore his presence.

He strolled right up to Fuutaro's side without a care.

Fuutaro was focused intently on the blackboard, scribbling notes furiously.

Ye Yu casually pulled the phone from Fuutaro's desk drawer, then dialed his own number in plain sight.

The loud ringtone blared—but no one in the room reacted.

After deleting the call log, Ye Yu now had Fuutaro's contact info.

Next, he took Fuutaro's student handbook, removed the childhood photo of Fuutaro and Yotsuba, and stored it in his spatial pocket.

Mission accomplished, he teleported to a rooftop across the street from the school.

From there, he sent Fuutaro a text:

[Mr. Uesugi Fuutaro, Your résumé has been received by Yuka Education Group. After review, you are a perfect fit for our latest project! We are prepared to offer triple the standard salary to secure your services. Please reply as soon as possible if interested!]

Ye Yu had crafted the message deliberately—he knew money was Fuutaro's weak spot.

Watching from afar, he saw Fuutaro's face change dramatically the moment he read it. Disbelief quickly turned to excitement.

Triple?

Even at a normal office worker's 250–300k yen per month, triple would be at least 750k.

Fuutaro was so broke he couldn't even afford meat with his grilled-meat set—he survived on rice and soup.

With 750k… how much meat could he eat?!

The thought alone made him drool.

But when did I ever send a résumé?

Did Dad submit one for me?

And I'm just a student—can I really handle a job at an education company?

My only free time is weekends… would they accept that?

Still, this was an incredible opportunity.

Even double—or even standard pay—would be worth trying.

Fuutaro quickly made an excuse, dashed to the bathroom, and called the number.

Seeing the incoming call, Ye Yu smiled faintly and answered.

"Hello, is this Yuka Education Group?"

"Yes. How can I help you?"

Hearing the confirmation, Fuutaro swallowed hard.

"Hello, this is Uesugi Fuutaro. I received your message about the new project. I'm very interested and would love to discuss it in person."

"Hmm…"

Ye Yu let out a thoughtful hum from his spot on the rooftop, pausing dramatically.

Fuutaro swallowed again.

He'd just been fantasizing about how that money would change his life—he was terrified the man would say it was a mistake.

After about twenty seconds, Ye Yu finally spoke.

"Uesugi Fuutaro, correct?"

"Yes!"

"You've been accepted."

Fuutaro exhaled in relief.

"However, your situation is a bit unique…"

Fuutaro's heart sank again.

"You're still a student, so we'll need to meet in person to finalize things."

"Meet? When would that be?"

"Today at noon—12:00. I don't want to waste your valuable time. Location: Kanzaki Restaurant, right across from Rinkan Academy."

"Perfect. I'll be there on time."

Ye Yu hung up with a satisfied smile.

This had been his plan all along.

He'd use the job to monopolize Fuutaro's time—leaving him no chance to interact with the quintuplets, let alone build any relationships.

He wasn't worried about refusal. The offer was irresistible.

And Yuka Education Group wasn't entirely made up.

He'd sold a small portion of the gold from his space, used the money to acquire a tiny tutoring agency, and renamed it Yuka Education—combining his and Ichika's names.

Whether it turned a profit didn't matter to him.

Now that he knew this world was filled with goddesses from other anime, money was the least of his concerns.

Time passed quickly. Noon arrived.

When Ye Yu entered the restaurant, he spotted Fuutaro already seated, looking nervous and out of place.

Under Fuutaro's shocked gaze, Ye Yu calmly took the seat across from him.

"Uh, sorry—this seat's taken."

"Mr. Uesugi Fuutaro, I presume? I'm the president of Yuka Education, Ye Yu. Pleasure to meet you."

Ye Yu extended his hand politely.

Fuutaro stared at the man who appeared only slightly older than himself.

Is this a prank?

A guy this young is the president of a company?

Did I piss someone off and they sent him to mess with me?

Despite his doubts, Fuutaro shook hands courteously.

"President Ye Yu, it's an honor."

Ye Yu smiled, called the waiter, and ordered for both of them after a cursory question.

Then he studied Fuutaro with a sharp gaze.

"I know you have plenty of questions—maybe even suspecting this is an elaborate prank."

Fuutaro kept a neutral expression, meeting his eyes.

"I'm a straightforward person. I know your situation inside out. Your family's finances are dire—you desperately need money to improve your life."

"And I can offer you a way to earn enough to solve those problems—without interfering with your studies—using only your free time."

Just those few words were enough. Fuutaro no longer cared about Ye Yu's age or legitimacy.

This was exactly what he needed.

"President Ye Yu, what exactly would the job entail? And the salary?"

"Standard staff earn around 300k yen per month. I'm offering you triple—900k."

Ye Yu vaguely recalled that Fuutaro's tutoring gig with the quintuplets paid roughly 800k+ per month—so he went higher.

Fuutaro's eyes practically turned into yen symbols.

His own father earned less than 300k a month.

"As for the work—it's simple. Just assist the company with a few tasks in your spare time. Easy for a genius like you."

Ye Yu smiled faintly and sipped his tea.
