As Elias pulled the box inside his house, after checking the address and content of course, he wondered where would be the best place to put it.
After doing some quick estimation, he decided by the wall and near the corner would be ideal, as he doubted the cords will be that long and he did not want to accidentally stumble on it when he is groggy in the morning.
Putting the system together took him half an hour, mostly to screw the chair into one whole piece. Thankfully, the electronic part was already installed in a way that did not need him to have a degree in Electronic.
By the time he finished putting everything together, it's already 9 in the morning.
'It's too late for a jog. Just take a shower and have breakfast, then see if the gaming system is as cool as the President makes it out to be.'

After eating some slices of bread with jam, Elias took out the usage pamphlet. Half of it was filled with warning; from places the system should not be close to, to what not to do to the system unless one fancies a fire or electrocution.
Along with it was some warning about disorientation during the first time and telling players to read a few extra warnings inside the game.
As for the available games, there is only one.
"World of Ilyon, an exploration-adventuring game. Sounds interesting." He muttered to himself.
As he sat in the chair, Elias first put on the helmet, dropping the goggles before putting his arms on the armrest, inside a compartment filled with plastic-gel like substance.
"If this is made out of metal, it will not look out of place next to an electric chair." he mused out loud, before taking one of his arms out of the compartment and placing it on the on button on the headset.
[Fingerprints recognition system is offline. Does the player wish for fingerprint recognition to be active?]
"Yes," he said without hesitation.
[Affirmative. Scanning player's fingerprints. Fingerprints scanned. Unless deactivated, only the player's fingerprints can activate the virtual system.]
"Cool." He could not help but say. And then, it gets way cooler.
One second he was staring at his room, tinted in black. Another he was in a space of blue, his body feeling like it was floating in the air.

[Username will be used in chatbox with other players while name will be used for in-game interaction.]
"Oh." Elias was slightly surprised by the quick reply before assuming he cut off the guide.
"Hhmm," for the username, he decided to go for a simple Alias50@. As for his in-game name,
"Alisnair." It was a name he had used in all the games he played before. It feels right to use it for this one too.
Finishing writing typing his name, the screen disappears, replaced by a virtual model.
[This is the virtual avatar creation system. Players can create their virtual avatar or they can based it on their appearance.]
"Oh, I can compare both?" He asked. Before pushing the compare option.
Seconds later he could see two virtual avatars. One of a bland person that will be lost in a crowd unless someone is laser-focused on him while the other is sharing his face.
"Hhmm, I pick my own face." He decided. While creating a virtual avatar from scratch is tempting, he prefers to use his face this time.
[Warning: after creation of virtual avatar, players could not change it on fundamental levels (height, nose shape, etc.), only cosmetic level can be changed (eye color, hair color, etc.)]
"Huh." To not allow greater changes, he wondered what the InterCorp gaming division was thinking.
"Oh well, I just want to play."
Not making any changes, the virtual avatar's image was replaced by an attribute bar. Besides it, he spotted a question mark icon. Touching it, a black screen appeared in front of him before a series of explanations streaked across it.
[Attributes determine the ability of the player. There are 6 main attributes with connecting sub-attributes and ability.
Strength - Effect physical strength and carrying capacity. [?]
Constitution - Effect endurance, vitality, and resistance. [?]
Dexterity - Effect agility, balance, and reaction time. [?]
Intelligence - Effect observation, perception, and insight. [?]
Charisma - Effect social interaction ability, and persuasiveness. [?]
Luck - Effect luck. [?]
Players can choose to customize their stat or based it on themselves.]
"... does InterCorp want to reward those that live healthily, or at least exercise on a daily basis?" he could not help but ask before picking the compare option once again.

Elias blinked, rubbed his eyes, and blinked again.
"H-how do I have so much luck?!" He yelled, before shutting his mouth, embarrassed that he might be heard by anyone in the complex (the walls are not that thick) before he remembered he was inside a virtual space.
"Is it even an option?" He picked based on himself. Aside from the outrageous luck stat, even the extras from other 5 main attributes are greater than the extra point provided by the custom set.
[Please wait for a moment for the system to generate the tutorial space. Players are advised to do a more thorough reading on the attributes set.]
Since he had nothing better to do, and the player guide advised him to do so, he decided to read it. It did not take long for him to understand the basics.
"More strength means I can carry more loot and deal stronger blows. Constitution increases my HP, stamina and my resistance to status effects. Dexterity is my movement speed, attack speed, and dodging. Charisma is basically my people skill and ability to persuade others.
Intelligence, that seems to be different from other RPGs. Then again, this game is a VR game, so it probably cannot do much if some does something stupid. Not like it can miraculously make someone smarter." He scoffed at the thought.
As for luck, I assume it means better loot when killing monsters and finding treasure chests." Unfortunately, unlike other games which often tell it in more details, World of Ilyon seem intent on making the players interact with the world and learn it by themselves.
