Chapter 23 - I Sold You

(send power stones please)

One year later.

Holy Land Mary Geoise — Slave Training Grounds.

Two figures blurred through the air, clashing again and again.

They collided—separated—then collided once more, the sound of impact echoing endlessly across the training field.

The two combatants were Chenos and the sword-wielding CP0.

At this moment, the CP0 agent had already drawn his blade, showing no mercy as he unleashed refined sword techniques at Chenos.

"One-Sword Style — Flash Sever!"

In an instant, the CP0 agent vanished from Chenos' sight.

The next moment, he reappeared behind him.

The blade descended toward Chenos' neck.

But Chenos was no longer the boy he had been a year ago.

He didn't panic.

Twisting his body, he threw a punch straight at the blade.

"Shock Fist!"

His fist struck the sword's edge, halting its momentum.

Then—

A surge of long-accumulated rebound force exploded outward, blasting the CP0 agent away.

But the CP0 agent was already familiar with this response.

The instant he was sent flying, he stomped the air with Moonwalk, forcibly stopping his retreat—then surged forward again, sword tip aimed straight at Chenos' chest.

A killing thrust.

Yet Chenos didn't even raise a guard.

Instead, he calmly lifted his right index finger.

Finger Pistol.

The CP0 agent's blade pierced Chenos' chest—

—but at the same time, he violently slashed sideways, twisting his body mid-air with brute strength and sword momentum, narrowly evading the Finger Pistol.

A blade-like shockwave shot from Chenos' finger and blasted into the ground, carving a deep, bottomless crater.

As for Chenos—

Though the blade had struck his chest, not even a scratch remained.

The CP0 agent landed and slowly sheathed his sword.

"…Enough."

"You've mastered your Haki, Devil Fruit, and the Six Powers."

"At this point, further training is meaningless."

"If I want to defeat you now, I'd need to use my killing technique."

"And if I do that—you'll die."

"…So this is where it ends."

His gaze was complicated.

A year ago, he'd believed he could properly teach Chenos.

But reality was brutal.

After only three months, Chenos had already mastered all six forms of Rokushiki—a feat that took many CP candidates years to achieve.

After that, their "training" had become nothing more than repeated combat.

And now—

Unless he used a suicidal finishing move, all their battles ended in a draw.

And even then…

With Chenos' absurd Devil Fruit—

Attacking him meant killing yourself.

Just like earlier:

the attack that pierced Chenos' chest had nearly been returned to him in the form of Finger Pistol.

How was anyone supposed to fight that?

Chenos smiled.

"Master, you'll always be someone I can learn from."

"I'll spend my whole life striving toward you."

In truth, Chenos had already surpassed him.

He hadn't even gone all out just now—purely out of respect.

The CP0 agent laughed softly and patted his shoulder.

"Good. Don't grow arrogant."

"There are many monsters in this world far stronger than me."

"Never forget that."

Chenos nodded seriously.

The CP0 agent felt deeply satisfied.

What had started as an excuse to avoid serving those disgusting Celestial Dragons…

had turned into the greatest teaching experience of his life.

After hesitating for a moment, he lowered his voice.

"Be careful."

"Charlmark Saint has lost too much recently."

"He's planning to take revenge on you."

Chenos frowned.

If a Celestial Dragon truly wanted him dead—

He had no way to escape Mary Geoise alive.

"I understand. I'll keep a low profile."

The CP0 agent stared at him for a long moment.

"…I'm being reassigned after today."

"Remember—surviving is more important than anything."

Chenos smiled.

"Master, I hope the next time we meet… it'll be on the sea."

The CP0 agent's heart twisted painfully.

Chenos was a slave.

There should be no next time.

But he forced a smile.

"…Yes. Let's meet again at sea."

With that, he leapt away, unwilling to let Chenos see his emotions.

Once he was gone, Chenos muttered to himself:

"…Why hasn't Brother Fisher come back yet?"

"It's already been a year."

"Don't tell me he really died…"

At that moment, a World Government official approached coldly.

"Chenos. Charlos Saint summons you. Follow me."

Chenos frowned.

Not entertainment time… why now?

Still, he obeyed.

But the moment he entered the room—

He froze.

Hancock was there.

And so was Charlmark Saint.

"Hahaha! Charlos, since the goods are here—

I'll be taking him."

Charlmark's eyes were filled with venom, as if he wanted to tear Chenos apart.

Chenos' pupils shrank.

"Lord Charlos… what does this mean?"

Charlos burst into laughter.

"Hahaha! 'Indestructible,' I sold you."

"Didn't expect a toy I was bored of could fetch such a good price!"
