Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 - Hero King, No, Lamppost King

---o---

[As the King of Conquerors' words faded, the camera on the light screen panned up to a lamppost. A golden brilliance flickered atop it, rapidly coalescing into a human figure. A Servant fully materialized within the golden light.

He was clad in magnificent, full-body heavy armor that seemed forged from gold itself. He had a handsome, fair face, and his crimson pupils were filled with pride and indifference, like a supreme monarch gazing down upon the earth. His golden hair was styled upwards, as if held in place with gel, and golden earrings shone with a radiant light.

The man crossed his arms, looking down at the group below. Then, he slowly opened his mouth and spoke his first line.

"To think that two rats who ignore my presence and call themselves 'king' would scurry out in one night!"

Hearing this, Artoria's eyes narrowed, while the King of Conquerors, ever the simple-hearted brute, scratched his face and said, "That doesn't make any sense. I, Iskandar, am the world-renowned King of Conquerors."

The golden man's arrogant and cold voice rang out again. "What a joke. The only true hero qualified to be called 'king' is me, and me alone, in heaven and on earth! The rest are nothing but ill-bred mongrels."

Upon hearing such arrogant, condescending, and even insulting words, Artoria's gaze toward the golden man turned dangerous. The King of Conquerors, however, seemed unaffected and continued, "Since you've said that much, why not state your name?"

"If you're a king, you wouldn't dare hide your great name, would you?"

But at these words, the golden Servant's emotions suddenly flared for some unknown reason. An invisible magical energy coiled around him, affecting even the lamppost beneath his feet, which flickered as if short-circuiting until the bulb shattered.

The golden Servant lifted his head, sneering at the people below. "Ask me? A mere mongrel dares to ask me?"

"You bask in the glory of an audience with me, yet you do not even recognize me. Such foolishness does not deserve to live!!"

As the golden Servant's voice fell, golden ripples slowly materialized behind him. From within them emerged several weapons: swords, spears, and even axes.

War was imminent. No one could have predicted that this Servant, who had appeared out of thin air, would be so hostile, ready to attack everyone present the moment he arrived. And those present were the King of Conquerors and King Arthur, both renowned kings of great fame.

What kind of being would dare to launch an attack on two kings, even after knowing their identities?]

---o---

Conan Edogawa: "Arrogant. That's just too arrogant! I've never seen anyone so arrogant in my entire life."

Ran Mouri: "Conan, it's not just you. Even Shinichi and I have never met someone so full of himself."

Otto Apocalypse: "To be so confident, his identity must be extraordinary. Combined with his status as a king, hehe... it seems his True Name is about to be revealed."

Eriri Spencer Sawamura: "What? I've been watching for ages and I still don't know who he is! How dare he speak to our King Arthur like that! He deserves to die!"

Hachiman Hikigaya: "Pardon me for saying so, but this fight probably won't happen. It looks like the protagonist is about to step in."

As expected, the golden Servant's appearance was not well-received. Whether it was the King of Conquerors or King Arthur, or even Lancer Diarmuid on the sidelines, all had their supporters.

But this golden Servant started with a taunt that targeted everyone. This behavior of completely disregarding others was truly infuriating, and that naturally included Elysia, who was witnessing it all.

Just as Hachiman Hikigaya had said, Elysia felt she hadn't had much of a presence for a while, so... she was going in!

---o---

["Hey, what you just said was a bit rude, wasn't it? What's this about you being the only king in heaven and on earth?"

Just as tensions were about to explode, Elysia jumped right into the middle of the standoff between the King of Conquerors and the golden Servant. She pointed one finger at the golden Servant, placed her other hand on her hip, and lectured him.

"As a boy, you shouldn't talk like that, you know~ Even children know to be polite. If you keep this up, you'll never find a girlfriend in the future."

Everyone: "..."

The Golden Servant: "..."

No one could have imagined that Elysia would speak to the golden Servant in such a manner.

In this world, there are countless civilizations and cultures, and the history between nations is completely different. Every region has its own unique history.

At the same time, humanity's reverence for its ancestors is deeply ingrained in its very genes, a fact true for both the East and the West. Every country has its own long history and figures of ancestral worship, as well as the great monarchs from its own past.

Basically, every formidable monarch has their own admirers and followers. Even if not worshipped, people would still feel a sincere pride that such outstanding kings once existed in their country.

But this golden Servant had come in and fired a broadside insult, his words tantamount to trampling the history and legends of other nations under his feet while shamelessly praising himself.

Tearing one down to build another up is an easy way to start a fight anywhere, let alone what the golden Servant was doing, which was far more than just that.

This situation naturally drew Elysia's dissatisfaction. Elysia deeply loves humanity and its history, so she found this kind of sweeping insult difficult to accept.

However, Elysia's words were so explosive that everyone was at a loss for how to even react. Even the golden Servant was stunned. He, the oldest of kings, had probably never imagined that someone would dare speak to him like that in his entire existence.

In his memory, the only ones who dared to speak to him in such a way were Siduri, and... him.

But those two were the only ones he could forgive. For the Elysia before him to say such a thing was to grind the king's pride and dignity under her heel.

After a brief moment of shock, the golden Servant's anger became visible. His face twisted, and even the air around him began to vibrate violently. It was clear... this king was truly enraged.

Golden ripples appeared ceaselessly behind him, their numbers constantly growing. One hundred... two hundred, and still increasing. The golden Servant raised his head, sneering down at Elysia.

"Woman... are you questioning the words of a king?!!"

His voice turned chillingly cold. "How bold! Mongrel! To treat the king's beneficence as a joke and offend the king's majesty! Only death can wash away your sins! A fool has no right to live in this world!"

As he spoke the final words, his voice rose to a shout, his expression contorting into a savage mask of fury.

An endless stream of Noble Phantasms emerged from the golden ripples as the Treasury of the King revealed its true form.

At this point, the King of Conquerors could no longer sit still. He hadn't paid much mind to the few Noble Phantasms from before, and it was clear the golden Servant hadn't been truly angry during their exchange. Even if he had attacked, Iskandar was confident he could have stopped him.

But when the golden ripples multiplied into the hundreds, the King of Conquerors felt a genuine sense of dread. He had wanted to intervene and protect the pink-haired girl, but seeing this, if the golden Servant truly unleashed his power, he could only rely on his Army of the King to retreat with Waver.

Saber, meanwhile, held Irisviel tightly behind her. At this stage, she had more or less guessed the golden Servant's identity. She never thought the Holy Grail War could summon a Servant of this caliber.

The King of Conquerors, the Hero King... it seemed this Holy Grail War was not going to be as easy as she had imagined.]

---o---

Eriri Spencer Sawamura: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, are you kidding me?! So many weapons! Does he own an armory or something?"

King of Conquerors: "No, those are not ordinary weapons. It may be unbelievable, but everything emerging from those golden ripples is a genuine Noble Phantasm."

Utaha Kasumigaoka: "They're all Noble Phantasms? It's over. Is the female lead's story going to end before it even begins?"

L: "How is this possible? Can the Holy Grail War really summon a Servant this completely unreasonable?"

Tomoya Aki: "Why did she have to provoke such a dangerous guy? Elysia, would it kill you to say a few less words? Now look, what a waste of a pretty face. She's about to be turned into a sieve."

Hachiman Hikigaya: "Hey, what you said is going too far. Elysia didn't do anything wrong. Besides, don't forget the title of the video. The protagonist of this story has always been Elysia."

Yukino Yukinoshita: "Tomoya Aki? Who do you think you are? What right do you have to speak about Elysia like that?"

The direction of the comment section veered off-topic due to the appearance of a scoundrel in gentleman's clothing. Tomoya Aki's words provoked discomfort and attacks from many, but having gained so much attention, he was likely enjoying himself. After all, as a blogger, his specialty was using controversy to attract traffic.

At that moment, in the Honkai world, Kevin silently committed the name of the person stirring up trouble for Elysia to memory, and for the first time, he posted in the comment section.

Kevin Kaslana: "Pay him no mind. An attack of this level cannot harm her..."
