Now it was time to practice his mage path, this one was a bit tricky. The most effective way was doing anything mentally challenging.
Solving extremely complex puzzles, doing hard maths or science, reading. In the case of scholars, it was pursuing their field to the extreme.
However he couldn't do any of that, the only other option was the second one, it was less effective and slower but simpler.
Repeatedly using your spell until you run out of mana. The issue though was that his spell needed a live target to practice.
He couldn't use the humans here as he didn't fully understand the side effects of prolonged exposure to his ability.
It might break their minds killing them. So he went down to the subterranean world. He found a rat very fast.
It glared at him but before it could attack, his eyes shone with golden misty light. Their eyes met and the rat stopped moving.
He had put it under an illusion, it started eating the ground. In it head it saw him dead lying on the ground after it killed him.
While doing this he realised another application of his ability. He could potentially control the minds of his targets.
Make them serve him without even knowing, he decided to try it. He gave the rat the illusion it served him since it birth.
That he raised and fed it, however conjuring this illusion cost him too much mana, even before he could finish he ran out of mana.
The rat came back to it senses and attacked him. He cut it head off with a single swipe, conjuring the second illusion was a failure.
' it seems I can't change too many memories yet.' conjuring such an illusion would've required him to change the memories of the rat since it birth.
This rat's special had quite a long lifespan but it mind could only retain a few memories, most of them recent.
Even so, he would still to at least change the memories of an entire week which was still too much for him.
However not everything was a failure, he accomplished his goal of tiring his mind and draining his mana.
And it seemed his spell was even more effective since it requires more mental energy than other spells to use.
He went back to meditate, when he was done he opened his eyes and saw the humans still cultivating.
He went back down to the subterranean world but this time he went to the other side of the river.
He stood Infront of the metal door and frowned. He touched it and felt everything clearly.
The metal door was being eaten through rapidly. He couldn't figure out how the spiders did it but they did.
He thought about opening the door and fighting since he had awoken but decided against it.
He didn't know how many spiders there were or if the rank 1 spiders he saw were the only ones.
He needed to grow a bit stronger then this and have his army with him. Khaladrel had no intentions of ever fighting a large battle alone.
He did that in his past life, of all the Gods, only he didn't have a proper army, he had warriors who were his worshippers.
However those guys fought for him because they wanted to, they were not his army. Infact what his siblings had could also he barely called an army.
Their overconfidence in their strength cost them a lot, he wasn't going to repeat the same mistake.
He went back up and took out his sword, he swung it a few times and shook his head. It wasn't that he didn't have talent for it.
He didn't feel like he liked it. The sword shifted like liquid metal and turned into a spear.
He waved the spear around and nodded. ' This is it.' just like that four days passed them he heard a pop.
He saw Viona open her eyes which blazed with fire. Of the three attributes she had, she has the most affinity with fire at 92 percent which was very high.
Attributes are the elements one can use and their bodies can retain. However when people are cultivating, they absorb all types of element mana.
Affinity determines how much of that mana will be of that attribute. Mana cultivation techniques does something similar.
After all, they were modelled after affinities, basically a high grade technique increases ones affinity.
Of course without a proper technique most wouldn't be able to cultivate at all. He looked at her and nodded.
Then went to her and placed his hand on her forehead. He felt the space for the mage node still open and couldn't help but smile.
" As I thought, you have the talent for the warlock path." She raised her eyebrow. " Warlock path?"
" I'll explain later, for now, try using the other technique I gave you." He gave two separate techniques.
One for the warrior path and the other for the mage path. Although she had affinity for three attributes, the other two were 3 percent for wind and 1 percent for earth.
So the techniques he gave her were both fire techniques. She can still use the other attributes but they will certainly be much weaker.
She went back to mediating. A day later Lucy and another man woke up. One a mage the other a warrior.
The man had 73 percent affinity for earth so his cultivation speed was very fast. Lucy had 68 percent affinity for water but her mental strength was very high.
This made her cultivation speed match that of that man. The two of them didn't have any talent for the warlock path so he allowed them to circulate their mana.
They became awakened at that moment. In his excitement the man stood up and started punching the air.
His punches were so strong they caused gales of wind. The man couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Khaladrel immediately put him in an illusion to shut him up lest he disturbed others. Lucy on the other hand didn't seem interested in her new spell.
Instead she started writing on the ground, Khali looked at what she was writing. It were strange symbols obviously invented by her.
" Is that math?"
