2 Days Before Kael vs Neraxis
Seraphine walked along the quiet streets, the wind brushing her hair back. She spotted her old school friend and approached with a soft smile.
"Hi. It's been a while since we last met."
Her friend returned the smile. They laughed and joked, recalling little moments from the past.
"So… you're a hunter now?" her friend asked, curiosity in her voice.
Yeah… a lot happened, but I abandoned my old life, Seraphine thought as she spoke. "Yeah. That's right."
"Must be cool," her friend said casually.
Seraphine smiled faintly, knowing the truth behind the words. Cool? Nothing about this life is cool. Every battle… is a fight for life or death.
"Yeah… you're right. I think," she replied.
She slipped off her coat, holding it out.
"Turn around."
"What are you doing?" her friend asked, hesitant.
Seraphine waited as her friend turned. Carefully, she draped her coat over her friend's shoulders.
"You might want to treasure it…" Seraphine said softly.
Her friend blinked, confused. "What do you mean?"
But Seraphine had already walked away, her footsteps echoing on the empty streets. Her friend clutched the coat, feeling its warmth—a small gift, a fleeting comfort.
After Kael Died
The world didn't wait to mourn him. The cheers and support he had received now twisted into venomous words.
"Kael… that bastard lost."
"We don't need someone like that loser."
"He can just fuck off. We don't need him."
"Even after all those cheers… that damn loser died. What a pathetic geek."
The streets buzzed with gossip and whispers. Fingers pointed. Voices shouted. Every kind thought Kael had earned was drowned in hate.
Even in death… they curse me. They never understood. They never will, Kael might have thought, if his heart were still beating. The weight of being the strongest didn't end with life—it followed him like a shadow, eternal, and merciless.
