Chapter 50: Don't Die
Nearby, Ishihara narrowed his eyes.
"No."
"They're testing each other."
Kael lunged for another strike.
Neraxis stepped back—then snapped forward, landing a clean hit to the jaw.
Yes.
That's the moment. I counter him clean.
Kael slid back across the ground, boots carving lines into stone.
Instantly, Neraxis' hand burned with flames, vital amplification coating it violently.
Zzngh!
The strike shot toward Kael—
—and stopped.
Right before impact.
Kael's Vital Force overflowed outward, invisible pressure collapsing the attack mid-air. The flames flickered, distorted—then vanished.
Neraxis' eyes widened.
"Huh?"
Kael straightened, unfazed.
"Coating your attacks with vital amplification doesn't work," he said calmly.
"Its purpose is canceling techniques."
"Your flames are part of your technique."
Neraxis grinned wider.
"I know what I'm trying to do."
Suddenly—
Mirror shards erupted from Kael's body.
Kael rushed forward.
Swish. Swish. Swish.
The shards slashed through the air, carving into Kael's body sharply.
Swish!
Blood spilled.
One shard tore through Kael's arm —blood spiraling as it hit the ground.
Kael stood his ground.
Then—
Neraxis lunged.
BOOM!
A punch slammed into Kael, forcing him back. The ground cracked beneath his feet.
Kael surged forward again—
—but mirror shards formed instantly in front of Neraxis.
BOOM!
They exploded.
The shockwave ripped through Kael's body. Pain surged through his chest and arms.
Smoke drifted.
Neraxis laughed, blood dripping from his chin.
"Don't die this easily."
