Chapter 10 - Aunt Kira & Mio

As Aoi, Lexi, and others farmed Flitz Ore for an hour through the multiple hills, Axir and Selena also returned there.

Selena was already level 14. From level 5 to level 14 in one hour, thanks to Axir's help.

"Let's see who collected the most ore."

Axir checked the weight of everyone's piles as they took the Flitz Ore out of their inventory.

It was a close call, but the winner was Kazuo.

"Let's fucking go!" Kazuo grinned.

Axir handed him the equipment set.

"No need to be disappointed," Selena said with a smile. "Axir and I found a dungeon, so we'll head there."

"What?! Seriously?"

"Awesome!"

"Let's go, let's go!"

Axir nodded at Selena. "You all go there directly. I'll visit the village and sell the ores and stuff."

Waving his hand, he stored everyone's ore piles. "I'll give you all the money I get from this ore minus 10 percent for commission."

Everyone nodded, and Axir flew away.

The others began moving.

"Let's move fast, pups!"

"Let him go alone, Selena. He knows the way."

"Come on!"

Axir completed his quest from the Blacksmith first.

He got a 1-star card, Hammering Impact. The good thing about this card was that instead of using a pickaxe, he could use this card, which required only his hand to break and mine the Ores.

And as he got stronger, he could use it to mine higher-tiered Ores as well, instead of getting a stronger pickaxe, because this card scaled with his Agility and Constitution stats.

On top of the card, he acquired a total of 187 Gold coins.

10 Gold + 50 silver per extra kilogram.

This was the best price. In the market, this ore sold for 35 silver per KG.

He kept 57 and would divide the rest between those five. Screw 10% comission. They don't know the true price at which he got this.

Afterward, he sold the rest of the stuff at other places.

And he also opened the Mystery Gold Pouch that only the first player to reach level 10 acquires.

Thanks to that, his total gold coins reached 6842. A perfect sum to buy something very good once he teleports to the World of Belkris.

But he wasn't in a hurry.

It would take half an hour or more for Selena and others to reach the dungeon.

In the four areas surrounding every beginner village in saperate dimension, the total number of dungeons is five.

One elite dungeon and four normal dungeons.

He already found the elite dungeon, so now there remained four normal dungeons, one of which he and Selena 'luckily' found again.

'For now, I should logout and prepare. It will take half an hour for others to reach there, so I have enough time. In the past life, Aunt Kira didn't enter this beta right away, so she must be at home with her daughter.'

Axir's fist clenched, his nails digging into his palm as he remembered the words of Jason right as Selena attacked and pushed him off into the abyss.

'I swear, I'll make you wish you were dead, Jason. You, your sister, and your whole rotten-ass family.'

Before logging out, Axir sent a message to Selena.

[ Axir: I'm logging out for half an hour, and it will easily take you all more than half an hour to reach there, so I'll be there by the time you reach the dungeon. ]

Without waiting for her reply, he logged out.

And appeared at the closed restaurant's door.

It was over 2 a.m with an eerie silence in this area.

'Things are going to get crazy.' Axir's eyes glinted.

3-star card, Rocket Wings.

Hrooo!! Zoom!

Because people who entered the game and progressed would not remain, normal humans would once they log out.

They would have everything.

Their decks, their stats, their items, their inventory.

Everything!

The Earth was about to plunge into a new age, and Axir had to prepare.

Axir's aunt and her daughter were watching the news.

Many people had entered the game and then logged out shortly, so they could directly use their basic deck cards and swing out their weapons, throw fireballs, shoot arrows, and so on.

Some had already started looting and committing crimes.

Fortunately, the players were not strong or tough enough to handle modern firearms yet.

Yet.

But it was going to change.

The governments all over the world, the wise people, could already foresee the chaos that was about to unfold and were in intense meetings while all the soldiers and many people were in the game, logging in and out to relay various information about this otherworldly phenomenon.

There were players, like special forces soldiers from various countries, who were doing their best to progress in the game, trying to become strong quickly, so that the governments could use them to maintain order.

Naturally, things might not go exactly the same as they did in his past life, but whatever happened, Axir knew what he had to do right now.

Thud.

Hearing the sound, Aunt Kira and his counsin sister Mio looked in the direction of the balcony.

"Brother! What's that behind your back?!"

"Oh, dear Axir. It seems you also entered that game and got superpowers."

Mio ran up to him just as he entered the house, looking at him excitedly.

Axir's eyes slightly shook as he smiled and caressed her head. "It's Rocket Wings. I got it from the game."

Mio died one year before his death. It was a horrific death, and only when he was about to die did he find out the culprit was with him all the time.

Axir could guess why Jason did that. Because Jason's own girl was with him, he took out his rage on his sister. 'I'll make you suffer, Jason.'

"This is such a bummer!" Mio pouted. "I need to wait for nine months before I can enter the game."

"You rascal. It's good that you can't enter." Aunt Kira lightly hit Mio's head.

Aunt Kira then looked at Axir, grabbing his shoulder and smiling warmly. "Are you alright, dear?"

Axir smiled and nodded, feeling warmth. "I am fine, Aunt."

'This time, I won't let you die because of a bunch of idiots.'

Players could respawn inside the game, but not once they log out. They can use powers and kill people or get killed, but they do not respawn on Earth.

"Alright, we don't have time to waste, so pack a bit of your clothes. We are leaving."

"Eh? You mean we are moving?" Mio was surprised, her eyes sparkling. "Where are we going?"

Aunt Kira frowned. "What happened? Is there any problem?"

Axir's face turned somber. "Yes. Big problem. This place is not safe. All people can enter the game. All kinds of people. They can become powerful inside the game, and power is the most dangerous drug."

"We have to move to a safer place, and I know one that is safest."

"But first," Axir looked at Aunt Kira and took something out of nowhere, startling them both.

"Wow! A weapon!" Mio shouted, her eyes shining.

"A crossbow?" Aunt Kira blinked.

Axir smiled. "Enter the game, and create your character. You will get 50 stat points, so put 20 in Constitution and 20 in Agility so you can wield this crossbow. Put the remaining 10 in Arcane."

"Grab the gold coins in your hand. They will enter the Inventory automatically once you enter the game. The first thing you have to do after you enter the village is to buy top-quality crossbow bolts from Hunter's Shop. And then take a quest from the village chief."

"Are you following?" Axir asked.

Aunt Kira nodded. "I am following."

"Good. Once you take the quest, leave the village and kill the monsters. With this crossbow, you can one-shot them. Make sure to take back the arrows unless they are broken. Just play the game and hunt monsters for fifteen to twenty minutes, and then log out."

Aunt Kira took mental note of everything and took a deep breath. "Alright."

She was in her forties, but fortunately, doing yoga and other exercises daily kept her fit at least.

A second later, she disappeared.
