Kawasaki finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had rushed back from outside the village, running nonstop the entire way. At long last, he'd managed to save Shisui's life.

The moment he did, a cold, sinister aura seeped into Uchiha Kawasaki's eyes.

The Uchiha who had come to help rescue Shisui gathered together. Upon seeing Shisui's empty eye sockets, they erupted in fury.
Who would dare to cross the Uchiha clan now? This was a complete and utter humiliation!

"We'll never forgive them for what they did to Shisui!"
"Elder! Who attacked Shisui?!"
As Kawasaki's vision sharpened, his sensory abilities also heightened. He snapped his head around, looking toward the forest behind his clansmen.
The sound of hurried footsteps came from the woods. In the blink of an eye, four Anbu in white cloaks burst out.
The moment one of the white-cloaked Anbu broke through the trees, he spotted a large group of Uchiha standing by the river. The very target he had been desperately searching for was lying on the ground, receiving treatment. But why were there so many other Uchiha here?!
The man made a hand signal, ordering the three Anbu behind him to halt!
"Root!"
The Uchiha's eyes went cold. They knew exactly what this organization was. Almost instantly, they all came to the same conclusion: Shisui must have been attacked by Root!
One after another, they drew their blades and charged at the Root members.
The Root squad leader at the front felt his heart sink. Among the dozen or so Uchiha, three were masters with the three-tomoe Sharingan. It was unlikely they could hold out for reinforcements.
Lord Danzo's will must be carried out to the end!
The squad leader gave a hand signal, and the agents behind him adopted expressions of grim resolve. Instead of retreating, the four of them charged forward, rushing toward the Uchiha.
The four of them constantly shifted formations, making their intentions impossible to read. They closed the distance quickly.
Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!
Two Uchiha flew through hand seals. They used the Great Fireball as a feint before the close-quarters clash began, their figures using the flames as cover to rapidly close in.
The other Uchiha threw shuriken as well.
Earth Style: Earth Flow Wall!
The Root agents quickly worked together to erect an earthen wall, blocking the Great Fireball Technique and the shuriken. The four of them took cover behind it.
When they leaped out again, they hurled dozens of paper bombs.

The ground erupted as the real one leaped out, his entire body covered in sizzling paper bombs. With a suicidal desperation, he lunged for Shisui, who was still on the ground.
"Let's die together!!"
At that moment, only Izumi and Kawasaki were standing by Shisui's side. The other Uchiha were too far away to intervene in time.
BOOM!!!
A massive explosion sent the other Uchiha clansmen flying.
"Elder!"
"Elder!"
When the dust settled, a golden, skeletal ribcage was revealed, firmly shielding Shisui and Izumi. A surging, powerful chakra radiated outward like a tornado.
Kawasaki stood in the center, arms crossed, his Mangekyo Sharingan spinning slowly in his eyes.
"Wh-What is that?!"
"S-Susanoo!"
"Could that be the legendary divine power of the Uchiha?"
"The Elder has the Mangekyo Sharingan?!"

A Gundam really is cool, Kawasaki mused with a satisfied nod. If only this were an Eternal Mangekyo, then I wouldn't have to worry about going blind.
Kawasaki cherished his eyesight. Seeing the immediate danger had passed, he immediately deactivated his Mangekyo Sharingan. His ocular power had only just awakened, and he hadn't had time to learn about his unique Mangekyo abilities. It was a good thing he'd unlocked Susanoo ahead of schedule.

Fugaku clenched his fists. "First, we wait for Elder Kawasaki's return."
Konoha must have already started to move by now, right?

Just as Uchiha Fugaku had predicted, news of the Uchiha's mobilization had already leaked the moment it began. Not to mention, the buildings surrounding the Uchiha compound were crawling with Anbu.
The Third Hokage silently put down his pipe. "What's the current situation?"

"Uchiha Shisui is missing, and so is Uchiha Itachi."
The Third fell silent. He truly hadn't wanted things to come to this. It seemed Shisui had failed, or perhaps...
He sighed, his expression hardening as he made his decision.
He removed his Hokage robes, revealing that he was already wearing his battle attire underneath.
"Issue the order! The entire village of Konoha is to enter a state of emergency!"
"Inform the heads of all shinobi clans. Assemble all Jonin and elite Jonin, and surround the Uchiha compound."
