Fifty years ago, a shower of meteors descended from the skies.

The whole café fell into a pin-drop silence as all the customers who had been banging on the back door suddenly paused at the same time.


All heads turned towards Ray, who stood there with his hood still over his head, his intense glare fixed upon the Ogre as though he was about to rip it to shreds.


The boy had just been seen blasting a King-rank beast through a wall.


They were more than stunned as they stared at him in disbelief.


Mouths hung open for a split second as they continued watching the standoff.


A little spark of hope ignited within their chests that maybe…

Turning towards the wall where his comrade had been blasted, the beast lingered for a few moments.


Chaos continued outside, with screams filling the air as humans were being torn to shreds while the Gate kept churning more beasts into the streets.
