Greyson POV
The bond pulled me. It wasn't my choice. It was barely my decision.
It started with this feeling and then it became more.
A violent tug.
It became a loud whisper in my chest that grew louder with every goddamn breath.
It freaked me out.
One second, I was watching from the shadow, the bond I pretend to sever was silent and bearable—barely.
And next?
It was screaming. Go to her.
Go. Go, now.
I ignored it. Because I knew well enough to know that the most painful part of a broken heart wasn't heartbreak—It was longing.
Yearning for someone you care about and love deeply, who's suddenly out of reach.
It's torture like no one in the history of torture has been tortured with.
It was cruel and it was heartbreaking.
Every other thing can heal. Given time, it can heal but longing...no.
Not yet anyway.
It was why I ignored the bond as long as I did. Didn't realize she was in trouble until my wolf, Elma clawed at me.
I moved through the castle fast.
