Wood took Perry away, their figures gradually disappearing into the night mist. Alex also hailed a rental carriage to go home; the sound of wheels clattering on the stone pavement sounded truly monotonous.
Waiting until he arrived at 21 Sacred Spear Lane, the warm light shining from the window made Alex feel strangely peaceful. Elias had finished preparing dinner, the fragrant smell of food wafting all the way to the door.
The Angel was meticulously arranging the dishes, looking at Alex who had washed his hands and sat at the table. However, haunted by the severed hand case and the plight of the tailor couple, his mood was not very good, and the smile on his lips was somewhat forced.
