Alex swung his arm to shake off the numb sensation, his face darkening as he looked at these two large men acting like children.
But Wood and Hughes were people who knew their limits; they joked for a moment and then returned to normal.
Wood handed the gun to Alex: "I will teach you the correct shooting posture."
He slowly approached Alex, guiding him to raise his hand, adjusting the height of his elbow: "Tuck your chin, lower your wrist to cancel out the recoil, keep your back straight, feet shoulder-width apart for balance. Most importantly, your arm and wrist must be tense like a solid block of steel."
Alex stood in the posture Wood described, trying to stiffen his body.
"Pardon me." Wood said softly, stepping in close from behind. His large, warm hand pressed down on Alex's shoulder, which was hunched up from tension. "Relax here, don't tense your shoulders."
