Chapter 208 - Chapter 208: Sealing Scrolls

Chapter 208: Sealing Scrolls

Ronin had scoured every inch of the Fourth Prince's luxury hotel. He had checked every hollow wall, every reinforced floor safe, and every "artistic" alcove.

He found nothing. No Scarlet Eyes.

There was only one logical conclusion: Tserriednich possessed a private residence—a sanctuary known only to his most intimate circle.

Locating this hidden lair required long-term surveillance, but standard Nen-based tracking was a dead end. Kakin's "Royal Safety Unit" was too sharp; their passive detection Hatsu would flag even the most well-disguised Nen user the moment they made eye contact.

Unless he didn't use his eyes directly.

Fortunately, Ronin possessed the perfect bypass: The Telescope Technique.

Backed by his massive Chakra reserves, the range of the scrying jutsu had expanded to a ten-kilometer radius.

During the first failed hit, Ronin had committed the Fourth Prince's unique aura signature to memory. Now, he could sit in the comfort of his own hotel suite and monitor the Prince's movements through his crystal ball at any time.

However, the "Double Protection" guards were elite. Occasionally, when the crystal ball's "camera angle" swept too close to the sensory specialists, they would start looking around frantically, sensing a phantom gaze.

They knew they were being watched, but they couldn't find the "source." Whether it was the extreme distance or the "God's-eye" perspective of the jutsu, the Empire's specialists were left chasing ghosts.

While Ronin observed with clinical detachment, the guards lived in a state of perpetual, nerve-wracking paranoia.

As for Tserriednich himself, he remained blissfully ignorant. He spent his days indulging in his horrific pastimes, ordering a steady stream of "expendable" women to his suite.

He would torture and murder them during his "recreational hours," often citing their "lack of intellectual depth" or "unrefined aesthetics" as the reason for their execution. In the Prince's eyes, these women weren't human beings; they were merely raw materials—meat and scraps.

The cleanup was always handled by the same man: the enforcer with the geometric tattoos.

In a metropolis as vast as the Kakin capital, a few missing women barely caused a ripple. Even if families tried to report them, the reports were quietly filed away into nothingness.

Ronin's evaluation of the Fourth Prince was finalized in two words: Human Scum.

During his long hours of observation, Ronin also mapped out the Prince's security detail.

Reflecting on his successful creation of the Summoning Scroll in the ruins, Ronin began experimenting with the production of other Ninja tools.

His primary focus: Sealing Scrolls.

The process turned out to be much simpler than he expected. Since he already mastered the Four Symbols Seal, creating a storage scroll was just a matter of applying the formula to high-quality paper to "bottle" a specific target.

The inspiration came from Naruto's battle against Pain.

Naruto had used scrolls to summon Shadow Clones that had been gathering Sage Chakra at Mount Myoboku, essentially using them as external batteries.

Ronin couldn't use Sage Mode, but the principle was sound.

Normally, a Shadow Clone begins to decay the moment it's created. Its Chakra leaks away over time, and eventually, the clone dispels naturally.

Ronin wanted to use Fuinjutsu to halt that natural decay. He wanted to "flash-freeze" Shadow Clones containing half his maximum Chakra into scrolls, creating a portable army he could deploy instantly.

The ritual was finicky.

At first, he didn't know if he should seal the clone into the scroll or cast the seal onto the clone and then have the scroll absorb it.

He broke hundreds of expensive, hand-crafted scrolls during the trial phase. Often, the clone would simply punch through the paper instead of being absorbed.

Finally, he perfected a two-stage process.

First, he applied a receptor-seal to the scroll. Then, he applied a containment-seal to the Shadow Clone. Only then could he trigger a "Fusion Sealing" that pulled the clone into the paper safely.

But this created a new problem: releasing them.

Tearing the scroll's seal released the clone, but the clone itself remained paralyzed by its internal containment-seal. Without a trigger to break the second layer, he just had a collection of very realistic paperweights.

The solution lay in the biology of this world. Ronin discovered a way to trigger the release using Life Energy.

Even a non-Nen user possessed a baseline of life force. And the most concentrated source was Blood.

By leaving a final, "Trigger" seal on the scroll that responded to human blood, Ronin created a weapon for the masses.

Even an ordinary person—someone invisible to Kakin's Nen-detection net—could carry these scrolls. The moment they smeared a drop of blood on the paper, the sealed Chakra would trigger, shattering the clone's internal seal and releasing a high-tier ninja into the room.

Ronin looked at the finished scrolls, a feeling of deep satisfaction washing over him.

He had solved the "Detection Problem."

The plan was set: Team Ronin would use ordinary citizens as delivery systems. The Empire's guards were trained to hunt monsters, but they wouldn't notice a common delivery boy carrying a tube of "blueprints."

And inside that tube would be their extinction.
