Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Use stone to smash

"Bull-headed Man?" Jasmine exclaimed.

Jasmine knew through books that this world had many fantasy races, but perhaps because she interacted with few people, or perhaps those fantasy races had fixed residences separated from others, whether in the Royal Capital or on the way to the territory, Jasmine had only interacted with humans and had never met a person of another race in the flesh.

Now, suddenly seeing a person with a human body and a bull's head appearing vividly before her, it was hard to avoid being startled and stunned.

The Bull-headed Man was just like the other slaves in the territory; although his skeletal frame and stature were very tall, he was very gaunt, with ribs clearly visible beneath his skin.

He strained himself to press his whole body onto the frantically struggling wild boar, using his body weight and remaining strength to pin down the wild boar's movements; even so, he was nearly thrown off by the wild boar's savage strength.

The Old Butler, who had been shielding Jasmine, saw the wild boar being blocked by someone and hurriedly shouted at the Bull-headed Man: "Hold it tight! Lead the wild boar away immediately!"

Hearing this, the Bull-headed Man exerted force, blue veins bulging on his arms, twisting the boar's head to deviate from Jasmine's position. Unfortunately, he had no weapon in his hands, and his claws were not sharp, so there was no way to inflict a fatal wound on the thick-skinned and fleshy wild boar. Coupled with not having eaten enough for a long time, his hands did not have much strength, so naturally, he could not break the wild boar's neck immediately; the man and the boar could only struggle fiercely on the dusty ground.

Jasmine looked around, carefully placed the Dragon Egg in her arms down at the base of a tree in a relatively safe position, then took a deep breath, picked up a large rock near her feet, circled past the panicked Old Butler, took a few steps forward, aimed, and smashed it hard onto the wild boar's head.

"My Lord! It is very dangerous!" The Old Butler saw this and screamed in fear, his heart wanting to jump out of his chest.

Even the Bull-headed Man was stunned for a beat by Jasmine's bold action, almost allowing the wild boar to surge up and escape.

"Don't just stand there, hold it tight!" Jasmine shouted, not stopping her hands; on the contrary, she raised the rock and smashed it harder onto the vital spot on the wild boar's head. Two consecutive powerful and decisive blows made the wild boar dizzy, blood started to flow out, and it squealed miserably in pain.

The Old Butler nearly fainted from anxiety; this new Lord from the Royal Capital looked weak, so how could she be so bold? Daring to grab a broken rock to rush into close combat with a ferocious wild boar... what if she got injured?

Unable to stop her, the Old Butler gritted his teeth, also picked up a rock from the ground, and summoned all the courage of his old age to rush in and lend a hand.

Fortunately, there was the muscle power of the Bull-headed Man helping to tightly control the wild boar; otherwise, with Jasmine's disorderly smashing action lacking combat technique, she would have long been knocked down by the wild boar's long, sharp tusks, or even disemboweled.

A long while later, under the relentless attacks, the wild boar let out a weak, unresigned groan, its body tilted to the side, convulsed a few times, and then fell to the ground, motionless.

Jasmine had used all her strength, smashing the wild boar's head into a pulp; red boar blood splattered everywhere, sticking to her dress and face, looking extremely bloody and horrific.

However, the Bull-headed Man did not dare to relax immediately; he waited until the wild boar had completely stopped breathing and its chest no longer heaved before slowly loosening his grip, standing up panting heavily.

"Are you alright? Are you injured?" Jasmine threw the blood-stained rock away, gasping for breath, wiping the sweat from her forehead, and asked the Bull-headed Man worriedly.

The Bull-headed Man clearly did not expect to receive the solicitous concern of the noble Lord; he was stunned for a long time, his big round eyes blinking before he hurriedly shook his head vigorously. Then, as if remembering something, he fearfully prostrated himself on the ground to bow to Jasmine.

As the main force controlling the wild boar, the Bull-headed Man had quite a bit of boar blood and mud on his body and face. The coarse clothes on his body, which were already tattered, were now even more shredded; just looking at the appearance, Jasmine could not tell whether he was injured or not.

"From now on, do not kneel before me." Jasmine also understood the inferiority and fear of these slaves; she took the initiative to step forward, not minding the dirt, and reached out to help the Bull-headed Man up.

"You made a great contribution today. If you hadn't bravely rushed out, William and I would likely have been heavily injured by this wild boar."

Jasmine spoke while observing the Bull-headed Man closely to make sure he was okay.

The Bull-headed Man shrank his neck, not daring to look straight into Jasmine's eyes; even though he was praised by Jasmine, he did not look the least bit happy, showing only timidity.

"My Lord, let us return to the castle first." The Old Butler was also quite tired, his limbs weak, but mainly he had been scared out of his wits.

This place was too close to the dense forest, and the smell of blood was rising thick all around. Coupled with the loud commotion they had just caused, the Old Butler was afraid that other wild beasts would smell the blood and run out.

Jasmine also began to feel a little afraid; growing up this big, it was the first time she had seen such a ferocious wild beast, full of wildness like a wild boar at such close range, and her hands were still trembling slightly.

She did not refuse the Old Butler's reasonable suggestion. Looking at the large wild boar lying on the ground, then looking at the Bull-headed Man standing still like a wooden statue next to it, not daring to move, she decisively ordered: "You carry this wild boar and return to the castle with us immediately."

The Bull-headed Man reacted then; he bent down, used his strength to hoist the entire heavy wild boar onto his broad shoulders, walking with some difficulty, staggering as he followed Jasmine back to the castle.

Jasmine did not help this time; if she dared to reach out and touch it, let alone the Old Butler crying out to the heavens, she feared the Bull-headed Man would be so scared that he would kneel down again to beg for forgiveness.

However, seeing a few other slaves working nearby on the way, she waved her hand to call two people over to help the Bull-headed Man carry the wild boar to lighten the load.

Jasmine walked alongside, looking at their thin figures and spines protruding under their thin shirts, and could not help but sigh bitterly in her heart; they were too thin, appearing as if a strong wind could blow them away.

She also once again felt the heavy responsibility on her shoulders and reaffirmed her most urgent goal at this moment, which was to at least let these suffering subjects of hers eat their fill and have a little more meat to nourish their health.
