After quietly comparing the equipment and attributes of Soulfire's elites, Marcus and the others entered the first level of Jasper's Tomb.
The tomb was constructed entirely from bluestone, with everlasting oil lamps flickering softly along the walls and casting a dim glow over the long, silent corridors. The architecture was unmistakably that of the Dreamland Continent's nobility, the sort of extravagant construction that wealthy and powerful families considered perfectly ordinary.
The elite class of Dreamland was particularly superstitious and placed great importance on feng shui. After death, they would choose a location with excellent spiritual energy and construct an elaborate tomb there to house their remains. Depending on the wealth and status of the deceased, such tombs could have three, five, eight, ten, or even more levels.
