Lan Meishan pulled Ningyan close, nibbling at his lips. His breath was warm and uneven, spilling straight into Ningyan's mouth.
His tongue traced and lingered, eager and unpracticed, tasting every part, every crevice... but the moment Ningyan let out a quiet sound in response, Meishan froze.
He broke the kiss immediately.
"Did I hurt you?" he cupped Ningyan's face, his serpent eyes wide with alarm.
Ningyan blinked, then laughed softly. "No, I—" He paused, studying Meishan more carefully. "Have you ever kissed someone before?"
Lan Meishan's face flushed all the way to his ears. He shook his head, slow and embarrassed. "No."
Ningyan smiled. He wasn't surprised.
Meishan, however, looked stricken. "I apologize. I will do better. I'll read books, proper ones, and learn how to… how to make love correctly and—"
Ningyan immediately raised both hands, cupping Meishan's face and stopping him mid-spiral. He smiled gently, grounding him.
