Feeling his head throb, Ningyan let out a low groan and rubbed his forehead. His body felt heavy, exhaustion still clinging to him in a way he couldn't quite describe.
The scent around him was pleasant, sharp and clean, like the air after a storm.
As he ran his fingers through his hair and turned onto his side, a small, satisfied smile curved his lips at the memory of last night.
I awakened my beast soul.
He opened his eyes ready to scream with joy.
And froze.
A pair of golden, reptilian eyes stared back at him from inches away.
Long deep blue hair spilled across silk pillows, sharp breathtaking features sculpted as if carved from jade. His presence alone pressed down on Ningyan's chest, heavy, suffocating, impossible to ignore.
Ningyan's face was drained of color. "What the—"
"You're awake," Jun Haoxuan said softly, a faint smile touching his lips. "Did you sleep well?"
Ningyan's eyes twitched.
How? When?
Why was he waking up in the dragon prince's bed?!
