Ever since Simon learned how to speak, walk, and write as a demon child, the first thing he tried to do was to get information.
Although he had reincarnated, there was nothing that said he had reincarnated into the present and not the past.
Just because many main characters always reincarnated into the future did not mean he was in the future.
Simon had tried to know what time it was, what the state of the demon realm and earth was, what the news about his past friends was, what people were saying about him.
He wanted all these information and more, but to his disbelief, his mother and nobody in his Tribe had the answers to these questions.
When he asked his mother about the Hero of Earth, she was confused.
When he also asked his mother and any other demon in their tribe about Earth, the current rulers of Earth, and the current situation of Earth, none of them had no idea.
They knew about Earth and Humans, but they had no knowledge of him as the Hero of Earth and the current situation of Earth.
To them, the battles between Earth and the Demon Realm was not their concern.
They were in the Wildlands. They were in one of the harshest and most difficult lands to live in, where survival was difficult.
They were more concerned about seeing the next day than Earth or any heroes of Earth.
It was extremely frustrating to Simon that he could not get the answers to the questions he had, but he decided to live with it until he left the tribe.
It was another reason why he wanted to leave the tribe so badly.
There was no library or place where they stored knowledge and information. It was such a backward place, and Simon was truly disgusted and annoyed by the conditions of the tribe.
Fortunately and unfortunately for him, he met Zaglur who was more knowledgeable about history than even some demons who lived in any of the six major clans.
'But if it's been over a thousand years since I died, what of those bastards who betrayed me? Are they still alive?'
'Well, they should still be alive since the lifespan of a Demi-God is over ten thousand years... Twelve thousand years to be exact.'
Simon looked down with a pondering expression.
'Could it be that the reason why they betrayed is so that they could become Demi-Gods?'
'No.'
'With their talents, they could still become Demi-Gods, but it would not have been easy in the slightest because of their patron gods.'
'But still, it's strange that so many people became Demi-Gods after my death. I'll find out why they betrayed me at the end of the day.'
'However, that means I'll still have to become stronger than my past life to be able to have my revenge.'
'I need to get stronger.'
A slight smile appeared on his lips along with a light of determination flashed in his eyes. But then he looked at Zaglur.
'But first, I have to find a way to survive.'
The gears in Simon's mind spun as he thought of ways to get out of this situation.
"You still haven't told me about the Devourers. All you've told me is about the three Great Wars that has happend in the demon realm."
Zaglur glanced at Simon, then he shook his head slightly.
"You're a curious one aren't you."
"I'm pretty sure anybody would want to know as much as possible about the blood that's flowing through their veins if they could."
Zaglur scoffed, then he spoke.
"As I said, I don't know much because much about the Devourers has been obscured. But from what I know, the Devourers were one of the most terrifying if not the most terrifying demon race in existence."
"Unlike other ancient demons in the past who evolved their demonic heart by absorbing chaos or through battles, Devourers got stronger by devouring other demons and even other non-demon races."
"Whenever they devoured a demon, they could get the demon's bloodline, and they could also get some skills from other living creatures they devoured."
"They were truly a menace to not only the non-demon races, but to even the demon race itself because they were always hungry."
"That was their curse. Hunger. No matter how much they devoured, they would always want more and more."
"I'm not certain, but I believe that the First Great War was against the Devourers and some other demons that sided with the Devourers. It was the Devourers against Gods and other demons."
"And I believe that the First Great War was what led to our current state. From what I know now, we're a far cry from the ancient demons. We're too weak."
Zaglur shook his head as he nonchalantly kicked a stone in disgust. Simon had a slight frown as he listened to Zaglur.
"Also, if I'm not wrong... Every demon gained a fraction of the Devourer's ability, because unlike ancient times where demons progressed by battle and chaos, demons can now progress by devouring another demon's heart."
"Every demon sees it as a normal thing, but after gaining knowledge about the history of Devourers, I know it's not... Every demon is related to the Devourers in a strange way."
Zaglur then looked at Simon with a light smile.
"And you, Blackmoon, have the blood of an ancient demon in you."
Simon looked at Zaglur calmly, then he released a soft sigh.
"I see now. The clan that paid for the Devourer's Blood Essence wants to use it to nurture and grow one of their own to become a future Demi-God or even a potential Demon God."
"They plan on either becoming the seventh Demon Kingdom or they plan on taking the place of one of the Demon Kingdoms."
"A war would sweep the entire demon realm if that should happen."
Zaglur's eyes flickered with slight surprise and intrigue.
"You're too smart for a kid your age and a kid who was being in a backwater tribe. It's a shame you'll most likely die before your coming of age ceremony."
