Chapter 53 - The Real Purpose!

Fujiwara Shunsui, seeing this scene, was clearly speechless. In fact, Harumizu wanted to find a quiet corner and silently hold his forehead, forcing a wry smile: What exactly is going on with this little girl?

This was Fujiwara Shunsui's only thought at the moment.

Although Nakamura Aoi might have realized that the Landlord had discovered her "peeping," wouldn't this kind of behavior be a clear admission of guilt?

Fujiwara Shunsui felt slightly helpless. Although he had already accepted a brand new [side quest] and received the previous reward, seeing Nakamura Aoi's current state and appearance...

He genuinely doubted if someone in this state could truly be a "paranoid" individual.

Fujiwara Shunsui walked up to her door and politely rang the doorbell.

"Ding-dong~"

"Ding-dong~"

"Ding-dong~"

There was no response from inside the room, which made Fujiwara Shunsui feel a headache coming on again. Only the duration of one lunch break had passed since they parted ways.

Moreover, Nakamura Aoi had just used this "no answer" trick that very morning.

Not to mention that just ten seconds ago, Fujiwara Shunsui and Nakamura Aoi had a brief "eye collision" in the hallway.

Helplessness.

This was Fujiwara Shunsui's most authentic inner state at the moment.

"Open the door. I know you're home."

After ringing the doorbell a few more times, Fujiwara Shunsui began softly calling out to her from the doorway. He even suspected that Nakamura Aoi was hiding right behind the door, avoiding him for some unknown reason.

"Open the door. I mean you no harm."

Fujiwara Shunsui restated his position. Although he knew the person peeping was Nakamura Aoi, he believed that Nakamura Aoi absolutely did not have the capability to organize those two assassination attempts.

Much less could Nakamura Aoi be the person behind Mino Hisashi.

Fujiwara Shunsui recalled the scene when he saw Nakamura Aoi that morning and cursed internally again: Utter nonsense.

Seeing that there was still no sound coming from inside the room, Fujiwara Shunsui could only resort to his ultimate move: diplomacy before force!

Fujiwara Shunsui took a step back from the door and continued:

"First, I have the spare key to 703! After all, I am the Landlord!"

"Second, Miss Nakamura, I truly mean no harm. I just want to talk to you to understand the situation."

"But if you don't cooperate with me to understand the situation, the property management company will report this matter to the police and let them investigate. At that point, you really won't be able to run away!"

The first two sentences were Harumizu's honest thoughts and facts; the last sentence was naturally spoken to scare Nakamura Aoi.

After all, Fujiwara Shunsui had never involved the property management staff from the beginning, nor would he let them know that someone had truly hacked the system—much less that it was his own tenant, a tenant "with a mission"!

There was still no movement inside the room, and impatience began to bubble up in Fujiwara Shunsui's heart.

"Miss Nakamura, I don't want to give up your rent, but if the property management really reports this, and the police arrive—if the circumstances are serious and you are taken away—I won't be able to protect you!"

Fujiwara Shunsui was patiently continuing to explain to this little girl.

If it weren't for the fact that she seemed like a naive college student when he saw her this morning, he naturally wouldn't be so gentle and persuasive.

For a tenant combination like Takahashi Kazuma and Miya Harukiko, Fujiwara Shunsui would definitely rush in without hesitation and beat them up first.

Perhaps this was the advantage of having both a baby face and a stunning figure.

Seeing that there was still no movement inside the room, Fujiwara Shunsui's annoyance had transformed into a slight anger. He thought: This Nakamura Aoi is too stubborn!

Thinking this, Fujiwara Shunsui feigned anger and spoke toward the door:

"Since you don't trust me, then wait for the police to come knocking for a full investigation!"

He then turned and walked away.

Hearing Fujiwara Shunsui's words, it seemed to have struck a sensitive nerve in Nakamura Aoi.

Accompanied by a "click,"

the door behind Fujiwara Shunsui was suddenly slid open with a "swoosh."

Nakamura Aoi was standing at the doorway, shouting at Fujiwara Shunsui: "Landlord, please don't call the police! I'll cooperate!"

Harumizu was secretly amused, thinking: She truly is just a child. If you had done this earlier, you wouldn't have had to worry!

Subsequently, Fujiwara Shunsui entered the room, guided by Nakamura Aoi.

After passing the entryway, Fujiwara Shunsui was still shocked by the scene in the living room.

The living room, which should have contained a sofa and a coffee table, was now dominated by a massive computer desk. On either side stood two enormous computer towers. This was quite a shock to Fujiwara Shunsui; even as a veteran workhorse in his previous life, he had only seen such large cases in pictures.

Today, two appeared at once.

At the same time, four computer screens were neatly lined up on the desk.

Harumizu thought to himself: I know this! It's for monitoring the market when trading stocks! Or maybe she's a streamer!

This room, which should have been the dream setup for many shut-ins, now had Nakamura Aoi standing in front of it, wearing loose clothing, gold-rimmed glasses, and occasionally giving Fujiwara Shunsui a silly smile.

This made Fujiwara Shunsui feel a sense of dissonance.

Nakamura Aoi almost fawningly pulled an ergonomic chair over from the side, revealing her cute little canine teeth, and said with a foolish grin to Fujiwara Shunsui:

"Hehe, I'm sorry, Landlord! I really didn't intentionally hack the neighborhood surveillance system. I was just bored, and I wanted to check if our neighborhood was safe. I only did this on a whim."

In Japan, hacking a public system can be a serious offense or a minor one, so Nakamura Aoi was trying hard to force a smile.

Her two little canine teeth were fully visible in front of Fujiwara Shunsui. As she spoke, she awkwardly pointed her finger toward the computer behind her, as if using body language to tell Fujiwara Shunsui: "I'm just a simple tech geek, and I have no other ill intentions!"

If it weren't for the help of the [system prompt], Fujiwara Shunsui would truly have been fooled by Nakamura Aoi's harmless appearance.

"The system prompt told Fujiwara Shunsui that the other party must have been 'peeping' at him for a long time, and he only found out because he accidentally triggered a mission!"

"Furthermore, the continuing side quest also indicated that Nakamura Aoi was somewhat paranoid, so it was naturally impossible for her to have done this on a whim!"

"Therefore, Nakamura Aoi definitely has her own purpose, and he couldn't be fooled by her current appearance!"

Watching Nakamura Aoi continue to act cute and playful in front of him, Fujiwara Shunsui stretched out his right hand and gave her round little cheek a hard pinch!

"Ouch—!"

One second Nakamura Aoi was trying hard to smile, the next she slapped away Fujiwara Shunsui's right hand!

"What are you doing—!"

Nakamura Aoi glared fiercely at her Landlord. Although she was terrified inside, this man was too inexplicable. All she did was hack the neighborhood surveillance and peek at him a few times, right? Why was he being so weird!

Seeing Nakamura Aoi wince in pain, a smile gradually spread across Fujiwara Shunsui's face.

Fujiwara Shunsui stopped wasting words, sat down directly, and said to Nakamura Aoi:

"It's come to this point, so stop pretending!"

"I know you've been secretly observing me for a long time."

"Tell me your real objective!"

PS: If you can see this, please give a ticket, Dad!
