The man raised his hand and caught Kayen's head.
He then examined Kayen's face.
Kayen's appearance was ordinary. There were dark circles beneath his eyes and a small mole on the right side of his mouth.
"I don't sense any trace of essence energy within this man's body.
Either he is an assassin highly skilled at concealing it, or he is just an ordinary human."
To determine the truth, the man stared into Kayen's eyes. They were still open, showing that he had not even had the chance to feel anything.
"O wretched soul. Show me, Leon, all of your memories from the beginning to the end of your life."
Leon then blinked.
Leon now saw a doctor lifting him up.
'This man looks very strange. Is he the father?'
Leon then looked around, seeing modern objects that left him confused.
'Where is this? I have never seen any country with things like this.'
Before Leon could understand where he was, the door to the room suddenly opened.
The door was opened by a man who was out of breath and drenched in sweat. The man looked similar to Kayen.
The man then approached him. He spread his arms wide and pulled Leon into an embrace.
'He seems to be the father.'
The man then walked toward a woman lying on a bed.
Leon looked at the woman. She was sleeping soundly, her body covered in sweat.
The man he believed to be the father then spoke in a language Leon did not understand.
Leon did not know what the father said, but it was clear that the father was happy.
Back to the present.
Leon, having seen all of Kayen's memories, unconsciously shed a single tear.
Realizing this, Leon quickly wiped it away.
There were many reasons for Leon's tears. The world Kayen lived in, although Earth could be destroyed at any time, never stopped its people from trying to survive.
Leon also saw the moments Kayen spent with his family. Even though those memories were few, every second of them was precious.
However, the greatest reason for his tears was the truth that he himself had already died—Leon.
The Sword Sovereign.
The future god.
The chosen one.
Dead.
"Hahahaha… I never thought I had died. I don't even have any memory of my death. It seems I was killed while fighting that damned assassin."
Already dead. Leon himself did not even realize when it had happened. Whether it was during his battle with the assassin he mistook for Kayen, or someone else entirely.
'It shouldn't have been that damned assassin. Even if he was strong, I don't believe he could have killed me without me realizing it.'
The one who killed Leon remained a mystery, but one thing was certain: Leon was now nothing more than a consciousness reconstructed by the Divine Realm.
"No wonder I've felt like I was being watched. So this thing called the system is what has been observing me. And now it seems to have realized that I am a mistake and is trying to erase me."
Having realized all of this, Leon could no longer say anything. He raised one hand upward, as if trying to grasp something.
Then, blue light gathered in the palm of his hand. After gathering enough of it, Leon walked toward Kayen's body while holding Kayen's head.
Leon gently placed Kayen's head on the ground. He then laid Kayen's body down so that it aligned with the head.
Leon extended his hand toward Kayen's body. The light that had gathered in his palm flew out toward Kayen.
The blue light quickly enveloped Kayen's entire body, from bottom to top.
After the blue light completely covered Kayen,
Leon bit his thumb. He then positioned his thumb directly above Kayen's head.
Blood gathered at Leon's thumb, yet it did not fall.
"After seeing your memories, I know that you are someone worthy of inheriting this blood."
After that, the blood fell onto Kayen. The blue light instantly turned red the moment the blood touched him.
"Blood that even I cannot control."
Seeing this, Leon sat down in a meditative posture. Small cracks appeared on his face, emerging from nowhere.
The cracks slowly spread across his face. Despite the shocking change happening to him, Leon remained calm, as if he had expected this. Even so, concern could be seen behind his eyes.
Leon was not worried about Kayen, nor about himself. What concerned him was who the true creator of the Divine Realm was.
Among all the beings he knew, not a single one possessed power so vast and magnificent as to create something like the Divine Realm.
"I don't know who you are, but I believe my successor will discover who you are!"
Leon said this without the slightest hesitation, as if he already knew Kayen from the beginning to the end of his life.
The cracks now covered Leon entirely. He did not resist, knowing it would be meaningless.
In the next instant, the cracked portions of Leon shattered into yellow fragments.
The fragments fell toward the ground, but before they could touch it, they were erased in midair.
"Never give up. What a funny phrase."
Those were the last words Leon spoke before he completely shattered and vanished into the air.
The red light enveloping Kayen disappeared entirely.
Kayen's appearance, which had once been ordinary, was now handsome. It was as if he had undergone cosmetic surgery meant solely to make him attractive.
Not only that, the dark circles beneath his eyes were gone, leaving only the mole, as if it had been deliberately preserved.
Kayen lay still. Then, after a moment, his fingers moved.
A few seconds later,
Kayen opened his eyes.
