The former prisoners stood frozen, still struggling to process what they had just witnessed. An Awakener this powerful..where had he even come from? He had killed the Goblin King in less than ten seconds.
Terrence noticed Treasure was still distant, lost in her own head. He walked over and gently placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Can't say I know what it's like being in your situation, Treasure-" he used her real name this time. "And you're damn sure right in feeling the way you feel. If you need someone to help and support you, I can be here for you." He offered her a genuine smile.
Treasure slowly lifted her gaze through tear-filled eyes and met his. She sensed no ill intent. The sincerity in them was clear..the trust. But she had seen that same look in her father's eyes once, and look how that had turned out.
