"Okay, okay, you didn't call me just to eat, right?" Tony asked impatiently.
"I'm worried your palladium poisoning has gotten worse," Steve said seriously.
"Then I'm supposed to thank you?" Tony frowned, speechless. He couldn't find a good comeback.
"You're welcome. We're friends," Steve replied calmly.
Tony sighed internally. I'm not even human anymore, but this guy's a real dog!
The chase — no, the massacre — continued.
The Hulk was completely unfazed by the rockets. Enraged beyond reason, he picked up a three-ton oil tanker and hurled it at the special forces.
In the blink of an eye, the squad was wiped out.
Even their leader, Emil Blonsky, broke out in a cold sweat. Facing death head-on was terrifying — yet thrilling.
Watching the Hulk's sheer power, Blonsky felt a strange mix of fear and admiration.
If he could gain that kind of strength, who in the U.S. Army would dare to look down on him?
Born in Russia but serving under the U.S. flag, discrimination had always followed him. But it also fueled his ambition — to rise, no matter what.
"It's my turn!"
Tony tossed aside his barbecue skewers, closed his helmet, and launched into the air after the Hulk.
"Hey, big guy! We can talk about this!" he shouted through his speaker.
The Hulk turned around, his eyes burning with fury.
"ROLL!"
The massive green giant kicked Tony before he could react, sending him flying in a spiral through the air.
BANG!
He crashed into the rubble, dazed and half-conscious. His HUD flickered.
Who am I? Where am I? What just happened?
Even from a distance, General Ross gasped. He'd faced monsters before, but nothing like this.
This thing is beyond control.
Buzz!
Tony switched on the sonic weapon. High-frequency waves blasted the Hulk's nerves, aiming to paralyze him.
But the Hulk only grew angrier. Covering his ears in agony, his bloodshot eyes glowed brighter.
BOOM!
He slammed into Tony with full force, sending Iron Man tumbling again.
Then, in blind fury, the Hulk began destroying everything in sight.
Buildings collapsed, cars exploded, and terrified civilians screamed and ran.
Ross's hands shook. Even though the chaos was happening in Brazil — technically not U.S. soil — the political backlash would still land squarely on him.
He had no choice but to grab his phone.
"Captain, can you help contain that monster?"
"Sure," Steve replied. "But I'll have to leave right after. I've got a date with a beautiful woman."
When Ross hung up, his expression was unreadable. Since when did Captain America put romance before duty?
His secretary chuckled. "Maybe seventy years of pent-up feelings can't wait any longer."
The older woman smiled wistfully as she watched Steve on the monitor. "With that body, I'd pay for the date myself."
When Steve approached the raging Hulk, a familiar chime echoed in his mind.
System Notification:
Host has entered the Hulk's exclusive storyline.
Mission Triggered: "There's a Kind of Love Called Letting Go."
Objective: Defeat the Hulk in his berserk state, retrieve the breakup letter written to Betty Ross, and help Bruce Banner obtain his gamma experiment data.
Reward: Justice Disguise.
Justice Disguise: As Captain America, you are always right. No matter what you do — slacking off, bending the rules, or recruiting others — it will be seen as just and righteous.
Breakup letter?
Steve frowned. He remembered the Hulk's origin — Bruce Banner, transformed by gamma radiation, lost control and seriously injured both Betty and General Ross.
The lab was destroyed, many people died, and Banner's guilt had consumed him ever since.
"Get out of here!"
The Hulk roared, but when he saw Steve, something about the Captain's aura made him hesitate.
"Hulk, I'm here to help you," Steve said. "But first, let's fight. If you beat me, I'll let you go. If you lose, you'll accept my help."
"HULK WON'T LOSE!"
The Hulk charged, his right fist cutting through the air like a cannonball.
BOOM!
But in a shocking reversal, it was the Hulk who was sent flying backward.
Steve steadied himself, gripping his Vibranium shield as the ground beneath him cracked like a spiderweb.
"That punch must've been at least a hundred tons of force… and that's not even his limit."
If not for his shield, and the Tarot Qigong technique he'd learned, he would've been crushed.
No wonder the Hulk could knock down a Chitauri Leviathan with one hit — the raw power was monstrous.
Thanks to his super soldier physique and the internal energy repair from Qigong, Steve's muscles instantly recovered, allowing him to continue the fight at full strength.
As the Hulk rose, Steve charged forward.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Three quick punches landed squarely on the Hulk's face — and the last one sent him flying again.
BOOM!
The Hulk hit the ground hard, then stood up slowly, spit out a broken tooth, and grinned.
From the command vehicle, both General Ross and Blonsky stood in shock.
"Is this… the power of a super soldier?" Ross muttered.
"I need that power," Blonsky whispered, trembling with envy. I'll become the strongest soldier alive.
On the battlefield, Steve fought like a storm — his shield a blur, his movements fast and precise. The combination of Vibranium defense and martial mastery made him nearly unstoppable.
Even so, it took almost an hour before the Hulk began to calm down. His fury faded, his heartbeat slowed, and he reverted to Bruce Banner.
Ross immediately ordered his men to capture the weakened scientist.
"Thank you, Captain. You were incredible," Ross said.
"You're welcome," Steve replied with a polite smile. "I just need twenty minutes alone with him. That won't be a problem, right?"
Ross hesitated, then nodded. "Alright. You've earned it."
After what he'd just witnessed, Ross wasn't about to argue with Captain America — the man who had single-handedly subdued the Hulk.
