"I don't want to go with them, father." I pleaded with him as tears gathered in my eyes.
"I know, my dear, but this is what your mother wants for you and she made me promise her." My father, Chadwick, explained to me although he looked torn.
It was obvious he didn't want me to go with my mother's sisters as I got to know but what could I do.
I was just a little girl who haven't completed her childhood and was yet to cross over to girlhood.
I wanted to be with my father and grow up with my brother, Peter, and my sister, Deborah.
It was very unfair that they were taking me away and my brother didn't come to see me off which hurt a lot.
"Will you come get me?" I hopefully asked and he smoothened the side of my hair and pulled me close as he hugged me and kissed me severally on my forehead.
He held me a little longer before saying, "I will keep in touch with you, my child."
