"Yes. I would rather send you away than her."
Strangely, I didn't feel bad about it, why?
Because I had already accepted my fate that Lauren and I were never going to work out.
Without saying another word, I walked away and made sure I didn't brush past him so he wouldn't hold me back like last time.
I actually did all that to see what he would do but some of it was actually true, especially the part where I yearned for him.
"Before you step out, make sure you put the ring back in place," I heard him say after me but I kept walking until I got to the doors.
On getting to the doors, I stopped and looked over my shoulder at him just to find him already turned and staring at me.
I remained there as I watched him longingly.
I couldn't understand myself anymore and it frightened me because if this kept going on, I may foolishly fall at his feet.
