"Take your godforsaken care and go to hell, Lauren."
Something shattered within me at the hearing of that statement.
It cut deeply and bruised me and I would be lying if I said I wasn't hurt.
How could she say something so hurtful?
I know I have been hard on her but right now we were trying to come to an agreement yet she was resorting to violence and it wearied me. If not that the care I had for her ran deep then I would have let that statement get to me.
If everyone could see that I care about her then how couldn't she see it?
I just couldn't seem to understand this.
Thankfully, my expression was stoic and didn't reveal how I truly felt, so I casually brushed it and went on to say, "Since you don't care what others think. Then don't you care what I think?" I asked back even when I knew the answer.
She gave me a ridiculous look, like I should already know the answer to that before saying, "I do not care what you think, Lauren."
