Mankey grinned as it approached and stared at Brock.
"Are you hungry? These rice balls are really delicious," Brock said as he offered one.
Mankey sniffed the rice ball, picked it up, jumped onto a large rock nearby, and began eating.
"He really likes it. He's eating happily," Raj said as he watched Mankey.
"Of course. I made them using the best ingredients," Brock said proudly.
"It really is excellent. A powerful Fighting-type Pokémon," Ash said as he reached for a Poké Ball.
"Wait Ash, are you really going to throw a Poké Ball the moment you meet him? That's not appropriate, and it won't be easy to catch him," Raj advised.
"I won't let this opportunity escape. Go Poké Ball," Ash said as he threw it anyway.
Mankey immediately threw the rice ball in its hand and knocked the Poké Ball away.
"Ah catch the rice ball," Ash said awkwardly as he ended up holding it instead.
Raj looked at him speechlessly.
At that moment, Mankey's eyes suddenly turned red as it angrily waved its arms.
"Look, it seems we made him angry," Misty said nervously.
"It's all your fault Ash. I told you not to throw the Poké Ball first," Raj said as he took out his Pokédex. Using system items here was not appropriate in front of everyone.
"Mankey is usually gentle, but it gets angry easily over small things. Once it loses its temper, it becomes very difficult to handle."
Before he finished speaking, Mankey suddenly rushed toward them at high speed.
They immediately started running.
"Who told you to interrupt his meal? You should take responsibility Ash," Misty shouted while running.
"It's too late to say that now," Ash replied.
"The resentment of having your meal interrupted is truly terrifying," Raj said as he ran, remembering how even in his previous life he hated being interrupted while eating.
"Maybe only another rice ball can calm him down. Let me try," Brock said.
"Go my Poké Ball. Oh no I said it wrong. Go my rice ball," Brock said as he threw another rice ball.
Mankey smashed it with one punch and continued charging forward.
Mankey rushed past Misty and Raj, ran straight toward Ash, beat him up, grabbed his hat, and jumped into a tree.
Raj watched Ash collapse onto the ground and sighed inwardly. As expected of a Fighting-type Pokémon, it was extremely aggressive.
"Ash are you okay? You were beaten badly," Misty said worriedly.
"Your hat was taken," Raj said as he pointed at Mankey jumping around in the tree.
"He really seems to like your hat," Misty said as she watched Mankey happily wear it.
"I have to get it back," Ash said as he hugged the tree and started climbing.
"Forget it Ash. You were beaten badly just now," Raj said as he waved his hand.
"No," Ash shouted.
"Why are you so stubborn?" Misty asked helplessly.
"That hat is my treasure. It's an important hat I received from the Pokémon League Grand Prize Event."
"Pokémon League Grand Prize?" Raj said in confusion.
"Wasn't that the event where only one hundred limited edition hats were given as prizes?" Brock asked as he remembered.
"Yes there was such an event," Misty said as she nodded.
"It's so rare. I want one too," Raj said honestly.
"I also sent postcards. Why didn't I get one?" Misty asked.
"I sent one thousand postcards to get that hat," Ash shouted from the tree.
"I only sent one. No wonder I didn't win," Misty said as she stuck out her tongue.
"In that case I understand. Men really get passionate about things like this. Ash really is serious about it," Raj said admiringly.
Just as Ash reached the top of the tree, Mankey knocked him down again.
At that moment, Team Rocket suddenly appeared.
Mankey looked at them curiously but was immediately kicked away by James.
Raj laughed quietly. It seemed they would handle the situation themselves.
"Hurry up and hand over all your Pokémon, especially Raj. His Pokémon are all very powerful," Jessie said.
"I think you should worry about your own safety instead," Brock said calmly.
"What?" Meowth asked in confusion.
"Mankey you idiot," Raj said mockingly.
"Ah Mankey. Now that you mention it, I think I kicked something just now," James said as he looked back.
Mankey's entire body suddenly began glowing white as it evolved.
Its body became much larger. Veins bulged across its forehead. Its fists grew huge, and steel training rings appeared around its wrists and ankles.
"Primeape. The evolved form of Mankey. It is always angry, and once it targets someone, it will chase them relentlessly," Raj said after checking the Pokédex.
"This has nothing to do with us. We're just here to steal your Pokémon. Go Ekans. Go Koffing," Jessie said as she prepared to attack.
Before she could finish, Primeape suddenly punched Jessie from behind and sent her flying.
Jessie screamed as she flew over Raj and the others and crashed into a large rock.
"Ekans Koffing change of orders. Go take down Primeape," Jessie shouted angrily.
Chaos immediately broke out.
Dust filled the area while stars spun around from the impacts.
Pikachu tried to secretly retrieve Ash's hat but was discovered by Primeape and the hat was taken back again.
Pikachu became angry and used Thunderbolt.
Primeape closed its eyes and stomped the ground in rage.
"Looking at Primeape's expression and movements, maybe it just wants attention," Brock said as he stepped forward.
"Think about it. It was chased while eating and then kicked. It's natural that it became angry. Maybe it just wants friends."
Brock walked toward Primeape.
He was immediately punched and sent flying.
At that moment, the Pokédex spoke again.
"Primeape's special move is Outrage. Once it goes on a rampage, it causes massive destruction."
"Ash battle it now. Defeat it and then catch it," Raj shouted.
"Squirtle use Water Gun."
Primeape was unaffected.
"Bulbasaur use Razor Leaf."
Primeape blocked every leaf with its fists.
"Charmander use Flamethrower."
Primeape dodged quickly and used Dynamic Punch on Charmander.
The flame on Charmander's tail suddenly grew stronger.
"That's Rage. The more damage it takes the stronger it becomes. Ash seize the opportunity," Raj shouted.
"Okay maximum power Flamethrower."
"Beedrill use Agility and bring back Ash's hat," Raj commanded.
By the time Beedrill retrieved the hat, Primeape had already lost the ability to battle from the powerful Flamethrower and Ash successfully captured it.
"Look the city ahead. That must be Celadon City," Misty said as she pointed forward excitedly.
"Alright let's head to Celadon City," Raj said as he handed Ash his hat back.
Ahead of them waited their next challenge in Celadon City.
