"I said unlike someone," Zade replied, a faint, playful tilt lingering at the corner of his lips. "Are you 'someone'?"
"...Hmmph!" Rai huffed, looking away.
Zade and Rai were currently sitting in a quiet corner of the airport terminal, casually chewing on overpriced sandwiches while waiting to board their flight.
As much as Zade liked to think he was unfazed, he wasn't. Not at all. It wasn't even about his father's death, but the mere thought of stepping back onto the very soil he had fled brought every dark, suffocating memory rushing straight back to the surface.
After all, he was not wrong. He knew it.
