For a moment, there's only darkness.
No chains, no Lord of Mystery, no strange halls and ancient powers. Just the endless, cold dark.
And then—
Flash.
*A memory.*
Light.
Jin is twelve—no, eight? —years old, running with the other kids through a field of wildflowers. The sky is endless above them… the wind a song in their ears… the sound of laughter everywhere.
But his laughter fades when someone tackles him, and he lands hard in the grass.

He gasps, trying to catch his breath—but his attacker is already on top of him, pinning him down.
> *"You've got to be quicker than that,"* a voice mocks above him, smug and all too familiar.
Jin struggles—but his captor only grins, holding him tighter.
> *"Stop. Moving."*
He glares up at his brother.* *"Get off of me."*
> *"You give up already?"* his brother snaps back smugly. *"You're even more useless than I thought."*
