"She lawyered up immediately," Marcus said. "She's not talking."
"Not yet. But we've been building pressure." Park pulled out another file. "We arrested Thomas Vance—the temp she placed in your security. He's cooperating. Gave us details about the payment from Cross, the information he provided, everything. We've also traced the burner phones to stores near Sterling's usual locations. We're building a conspiracy case that's getting harder for her to deny."
"So pressure her," Kael said. "Bring her back in."
"We are. She's scheduled for another interview this afternoon. Her lawyer thinks we're fishing. He doesn't know about Vance's cooperation yet. We're going to tell them both at once and see what happens."
"You think she'll break?"
"I think she's scared. Her lawyer is expensive but she's burning through money fast on legal fees. Thomas Vance flipping means she's facing twenty years minimum. And—" Park paused. "We found something else yesterday. Meridian Holdings."
