Chapter 26 - What a Delicacy

"UAGRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

A scream tore the air. Inhuman.

The man's heart pounded.

Tears welled in his eyes.

Despite everything he witnessed. Everything he went through.

Fear shook him to the core—primal fear.

This being before him was not human—neither demonic nor zombie.

Something far worse.

Swooosh!

He didn't hesitate.

No!

His mind blanked. The body moved on its own.

Cruel survival instinct.

He abandoned everything.

He escaped.

Swoosh!

The emotionless, Inhuman blood eyes locked on the target.

The back of the feeble human.

No longer intimidating, calculative, merciless. But desperate. Fearful.

Just a fragile human.

BOM!

Vincent moved.

Rubble flew around.

His head reached the half-collapsed ceiling.

The building trembled.

He was stuck inside. Unable to get out.

"UAAAAAARHHHHHHHHHH!"

An angry, mighty roar tore the air.

Vincent pulled his massive arm back.

BOOOOOOOOM!

Rubble flew in the air, like projectiles.

The ceiling disappeared.

A single punch.

Just a single punch blew off the ceiling.

Screeeeech!

The flying demon descended.

But its body froze mid-air.

Terror! Terror overwhelmed it.

This was not the powerless prey it chased.

Its senses screamed.

If it attacked, It will die.

Swoosh!

The blood eyes locked on it.

Flap! Flap!

The demon didn't hesitate.

It flapped its wings, escaping.

Splash!

Blood splashed.

The Progenitor stomped on the zombified demon hound.

The demon hound Vincent sacrificed so much to acquire.

Green blood, Intestines, and splattered organs clung to his feet.

The Progenitor grabbed the head.

Sppprruush!

The flesh tore.

It tore the head off.

Swooooosh!

The air trembled.

The Progenitor threw the head.

SCREEEEEEEEECH!

It hit!

The demon in the distance screamed in terror.

The massive head slammed into its body. It carried a massive force.

The demon started falling. Uncontrollably. Unable to regain control

Booom!

Rubble flew around.

The Progenitor stormed, running.

The massive feet scraped on the ground.

Violet blood splashed from the cut-off limb.

The ground painted violet.

.

.

.

The man escaped.

To his luck, the flying demon attracted the Progenitor's attention.

Tears streamed down his face.

The blood eyes haunted him.

He only thought of survival.

.

.

.

Bum!

A dust cloud rose.

The demon crashed on the ground.

It immediately stood up on its two legs. Disoriented but desperate.

"Scre?"

It saw it.

A blur rapidly approaching.

Swoosh!

It flew into the sky. Rapidly rising.

But too late.

The blur arrived.

Boom!

The ground underneath the feet cracked.

The Progenitor jumped.

He grabbed the feet of the demon.

SCREEEEEEEEEEEECH!

The demon screamed. Terror.

They rapidly descended.

The demon flapped its wings.

Desperately trying to stay in the air.

Landing on the ground meant death.

But it couldn't carry the massive weight of the Progenitor.

Nor could it set itself free.

THUD!

They landed on the ground.

SPLASH!

The Progenitor slammed the demon on the ground.

Blood splattered. Deep red blood.

The wings twisted in strange ways, bones tearing the flesh.

The Progenitor raised it above his head.

SPLAT!

He swung down.

The head burst.

The demon's body couldn't withstand the impact.

The Progenitor stomped on the corpse.

It became an unrecognizable lump of flesh.

But the Progenitor didn't feast on it.

He raised his head.

Looking in the direction of the bank.

Swoosh!

The body blurred.

He moved.

...

The man ran.

"I want to live..."

Tears streamed.

"I don't want to die..."

He mumbled.

"Why did I have to encounter such a monster...Why, when it was my turn!"

He could feel it.

The imminent death loomed over him.

He ran. Escaped. His muscles, lungs, and throat burned.

But he knew it was all in vain.

No one could escape that thing.

He encountered a monster among monsters.

CLANG!

The man froze.

CLANG! CLANG!

Metal impacts.

They tore the air.

Source? Behind him.

His heart skipped a beat.

He knew.

'It's trying to break the safe?'

He turned sharply.

His trembling eyes slowly calmed.

Clarity returned to him.

Memories flashed in his mind.

A memory of young, cheerful girls.

Teenage boys. Men. Elderly.

And a beautiful woman.

His eyes flashed in worry.

The monster couldn't break the safe.

The safe could withstand even a bomb.

No matter how terrifying, the man felt it couldn't compare with a bomb.

Not yet.

'Someone has to warn them,'

His body tensed.

'If they come out while that monster is outside...'

An image flashed in his mind.

Torn limbs, a river of blood.

The monster feasting.

Everyone dead.

"No,"

Determination gleamed out of his eyes.

He looked at his trembling palms.

"I've lived long enough,"

His fists clenched.

"The elder saved my life. This second life, I owe it to him."

Swoosh!

He ran back.

"Time to repay my debts,"

His face turned emotionless. Indifferent.

He made up his mind.

Ready to give up his life.

.

.

.

Clang!

A fist slammed into the safe.

Blood splattered.

The metal slightly dent in.

All its stats had multiplied by 10.

Strength has reached 80.

Clang!

The Progenitor relentlessly hammered the safe.

Blood painted it violet.

Dents filled the safe.

But despite the explosive strength, it showed no signs of breaking.

The Progenitor's fist turned into a messy plump of flesh.

Fingers broken, bones sticking, blood splattering, unrecognizable. Blooming like a flower.

But he showed no reaction.

Muffled voices sounded within the safe.

Confused, panicked. Uncertain.

The Progenitor could smell them.

The delicious scent of human flesh lingered around the safe.

Swish!

Suddenly, the Progenitor halted.

He turned sharply.

A human figure stood far in the distance.

An appetizing human. Unprotected by the safe.

An easy prey.

The Progenitor blurred.

He disappeared.

'Fast!'

The man's eye widened in terror.

But too late to react.

The Progenitor appeared behind him.

The man raised his arms to block.

A whip-like leg tore through the air.

THUD!

It slammed across his body.

CRACK!

The bones shattered.

BOOOM!

His body flew through the air.

His back slammed into the safe.

"COUGH!"

Blood splashed from his mouth.

The ribs shattered.

Pieces pierced his chest, sticking out.

His internal organs were a mess.

"Elder..."

His body slid down the safe, leaving a trail of crimson blood.

Crimson blood mixing with the violet.

"DARVIN!"

A roar came from within the safe.

"How is the situation! Report immediately!"

A panicked, elderly voice.

"Elder..."

Darvin spoke, with each word blood bubbled out of his mouth.

"Don't...come out..."

Thud!

The Progenitor landed behind him.

"A monster..."

"We can work together! We can kill it! I'll open the door!"

Another voice rang from inside.

Young, reckless.

"AGGUGHGUGH!"

A wet gurgle escaped Darvin's mouth.

The Progenitor bit into his calf.

The sharp teeth sank in.

Tearing the fibers, the muscles.

SHLLLRP!

The flesh seperated.

Blood gushed out of the wound.

The bone revealed to the air.

Munch! Munch!

The Progenitor munched.

A wide grin crept up his torn mouth.

The mouth stretching from ear to ear.

Crimson blood drooled down the jaw.

Human flesh stuck in between the teeth.

GULP!

It gulped.

Shluck!

And took another bite.

Crack!

The teeth shattered the calf bone. Effortlessly. As if eating a chicken.

Crunch! Crunch!

The bone crunched.

The teeth processed the food.

Darvin's eye trembled. In pain. In fear. In desperation.

"Do...not..."

He could no longer speak.

He choked.

"Unbea...table."

He clung to the safe.

How he wished to be inside.

His vision blanked occasionally.

He couldn't handle the pain.

The Progenitor's fist slowly healed.

The wound of the missing limb closed.

No longer bleeding.

Thud!

He grabbed Darvin's legs.

And pulled.

SHLLCCKKK-Splat!

The waist tore.

Blood, organs, and intestines gushed out, splattering on the ground.

"Guughhwa!"

Darvin choked.

His life quickly fading.

But he felt it all.

The pain of his body being slowly devoured.

The pain of being eaten alive.

What a miserable end.

Tears streamed down his face.

What did he do to deserve this?

Why is god punishing him?

Unfair! It was Unfair. Unjust!

He suffered out here.

While the others were inside, safe.

He was extremely unwilling.

But it was too late now.

'Ahhh...'

His life faded. Eyes closed.

'I shouldn't have come back...'

The last thought crossed his mind - a thought of regret

He died. Regretting his decision. Filled with Unwillingness.

Shluuurp!

A slurp tore the air.

The Progenitor slurped his intestines.

It slid down his throat.

He feasted.

Feasted on this delicacy.

Tap! Tap!

A few raindrops fell.

Rummble!

The sky thundered.

Splash! Splash!

Rain poured.

Water washed the blood.

It fell on the massive body of the Progenitor.

He continued feasting.

Crunching down the bones.

Scooping out the brain with the claw fingers.

What a delicacy.
