Gohan glanced at Majin Buu, who was stuffing himself with food in the distance. As expected, Buu had arrived first and was already eating nonstop.
"Gohan, try this!" Krillin said, handing him more than ten skewers of grilled meat.
"Thanks!"
Gohan accepted them and passed some to Videl and the others.
"Uncle Piccolo, want one?"
"No," Piccolo replied calmly.
He had only come to join the celebration. Living alone could get lonely sometimes.
"Gohan, is Goku still training?" Krillin asked.
"Yeah. He said he'll come later."
"I see."
Meanwhile, in Universe 7, Whis and Beerus were traveling toward Earth.
Since he had not been active for a long time, Beerus casually destroyed a few planets along the way.
In the Sacred World of the Kais, the Old Kai suddenly sensed multiple planets vanishing.
"Beerus… the God of Destruction… has awakened!"
The Supreme Kai looked alarmed. "Beerus?"
"Yes. The one who sealed me inside the Z Sword was Beerus!"
"Who exactly is Beerus?" Supreme Kai asked nervously.
The Old Kai looked at him in disbelief.
"I can't believe you're a Kai and don't know about Beerus. Just as we Kais create planets, there must be a deity responsible for destroying them. Beerus is that God of Destruction."
"I understand now."
The Old Kai sighed. "He's been asleep for a long time. Who knows how many planets he'll destroy this time?"
"Is he really that terrifying?" Supreme Kai asked.
"Even Majin Buu would be insignificant in front of him."
Supreme Kai broke out in a cold sweat.
King Kai's Planet.
Goku was training when he noticed King Kai looking uneasy.
"King Kai, what's wrong?"
"N-Nothing!" King Kai forced a smile.
Goku narrowed his eyes but continued training.
Back on Earth, Gohan stood on the deck, gazing at the ocean while Videl occasionally fed him pastries.
Krillin looked over enviously. "That kid really has it good."
Just then, Tien and Chiaotzu landed.
"Where's Goku?" Tien asked.
"Still training with King Kai," Krillin answered.
Suddenly, Gohan sensed a powerful aura filled with destruction.
"He's here."
"Who?" Videl asked.
"Beerus, the God of Destruction."
Piccolo immediately stepped forward. "Has he awakened?"
Gohan nodded.
Krillin and the others quickly gathered around.
"He's very close now," Gohan said seriously.
In the Sacred World of the Kais, the Old Kai's expression grew grim.
"Beerus and Whis are heading toward the North Galaxy."
"The North Galaxy?" Supreme Kai exclaimed.
"I'm afraid his target might be Gohan."
"If they fight, the entire universe could be at risk," the Old Kai warned.
Back on Earth, tension filled the cruise ship.
"Gohan, how long until he arrives?" Piccolo asked.
"A few minutes at most."
"Can you defeat him?"
Gohan shook his head. "No."
Beerus stood at the very peak of power in this universe. He would not be easy to defeat.
Bulma approached, noticing the tense atmosphere.
"What's going on?"
Gohan gave a small smile. "Aunt Bulma, I have some not-so-good news."
"Don't tell me Goku isn't coming!"
"No, it's not that."
"Then what is it?"
"Beerus, the God of Destruction, has awakened. And he's coming to Earth."
Bulma froze. "Coming here?"
"Possibly because of me," Gohan admitted.
Bulma grabbed her head in frustration. "This is the worst birthday ever."
Krillin tried to reassure her. "Maybe he just wants to visit."
"Yeah, Aunt Bulma," Gohan added gently.
Seven minutes later, a beam of multicolored light descended onto the deck.
When it faded, two figures stood revealed.
Beerus and Whis.
Everyone's expressions turned solemn.
"We meet again, Gohan," Whis greeted with a polite smile.
Gohan nodded.
Whis addressed the crowd. "Allow me to introduce Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction."
The name alone sent chills through everyone present.
Beerus slowly stepped forward and stopped in front of Gohan.
"I heard from Whis that you intend to inherit my position," Beerus said with a faint smile.
