"For starters, after you disappeared, with no proof being found, the emperor as well as most of the people in the city thought you were actually still alive."
I tilted my head slightly.
"Didn't the headmaster confirm my death? Wouldn't they believe him?"
"Believe the man who has no emotions? In all honesty, the only time we believe him is when he tells us the weather," she deadpanned.
I let out a chuckle.
Honestly, I thought he had more respect than that. Clearly not, though.
"Still, with the possibility of you being alive, everyone started trying to hunt you. Fast forward a few months, and after your new identity was revealed, alongside your bounty, people stopped searching for you."
Evelyn leaned against her office table and crossed her arms.
"Your name inspires more fear than you'd expect. But even if the normal folks stopped trying to chase you, there's been an attack group formed whose sole purpose is to kill you two."
