The portal at the center of the sky was a gaping wound in reality, pulling the very fabric of the universe toward it. The Emperor was gone, but the Void Gate he left behind was a vacuum ready to swallow the world whole.

"This gate can only be sealed from the inside," Gojung said, his voice echoing with a celestial resonance. A strange peace filled his starlight eyes. "Only one who has mastered the power of the Void can survive long enough to lock it."
Ryun grabbed Gojung's arm, his grip trembling. "No! We go back together. We promised."
Gojung smiled—a genuine, warm smile he had never shown before. "Ryun, you are the Sun this world needs. The Sun must stay outside to give light. I am the Shadow... and the shadow's place is within the darkness."

As Gojung walked toward the swirling vortex, the other five—Kael, Yuna, Seiya, Minho, and Noct—stepped forward. They didn't stop him; instead, they touched his shoulders, pouring the final embers of their Auras into him so he wouldn't be alone in the dark.

A blast of pure white light erupted, washing over the entire planet. When the brilliance finally faded, the sky was a deep, beautiful blue. The Emperor, the demons, and the terrifying portal were all gone.
But on the mountain peak, only six guardians remained. Gojung was gone.

Years passed. The walls between the Seven Cities were torn down. There were no more borders, no more hatred. In the center of the unified lands, a great monument was built—seven statues standing tall, shoulder to shoulder.
Ryun became the High Protector, leading the world with wisdom. Mei-Lin grew to be a legendary warrior in her own right. Every evening, as the sun set and the shadows grew long, Ryun would look out his window and smile.
He knew that somewhere, deep within the shadows, Gojung was still watching over them.
