Commander Wu ignored the horrified look on Deputy Commander Jia's face. He gave the latter one last glance before turning toward Commander Duan.
"No point wasting breath on him," he said, voice curt yet still heavily laced with contempt. "Let's go upstairs and discuss our next steps."
Commander Duan lifted his brows, clenching his hands slightly, still hidden behind his back. He chewed the inside of his mouth, suppressing the wave of exhaustion that had just hit him.
Commander Wu might be here, but his presence was still important. Particularly when the exposure of Deputy Commander Jia's treachery had just happened yesterday.
"Yes, time to leave," Commander Duan flicked his gaze to the deputy. His voice was several degrees colder as he stated, "As for the poison, we can run tests directly on him."
Major Chang had suggested experimenting with the poison on the convicts. Some of them were detained in Blackstone Fortress' prison.
But Commander Duan had another idea.
