In less than an hour, Ashrik and Lucille were done preparing breakfast. In the neighboring cottage, the others were still sound asleep. Exhaustion had dragged them into deeper rest.
Morning sunlight filtered in softly, bathing everything in a warm and calm glow. The area nearby was relatively quiet, save for the faint noise of the farm animals that traveled from the forest's border.
Ashrik and Lucille carried their portions to the table in the yard. They left the rest in the pot and other dishes, placed in the kitchen. Hazel and the rest could have just helped themselves to some food later.
"Woof! Woof!"
Dobby and Ponyo came running from the stream. They played chase earlier. Their paws and fur on the lower parts were soaked in water.
"I don't forget your food," Lucille chuckled, knowing that the gluttonous dogs were hungry.
After serving them bowls of meat and bones, Lucille joined Ashrik at the table. He had already served everything there.
