Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Fighting Against Frieza

Garna had just landed a clean hit and was preparing to press the attack when he saw an alien fly out of the hole he'd blasted open—without wearing a respirator.

He stopped gathering energy in his hands.

"Hey, Captain! The other side sent out another weakling!" Garna shouted.

Ever since Bardock had started casually calling people "weaklings," the term had spread among the Saiyans.

Now, whenever they saw someone with lower battle power, they respectfully referred to them as a weakling.

With a Great Ape battle power of 680,000, Garna was more than qualified to mock Frieza's first form.

"In that case," Toma said with a relaxed smile, "Garna, why don't you go have a chat with him?"

Clearly, none of them took Frieza's 530,000 battle power seriously.

"Alright! I'll give them another chance," Garna replied cheerfully, activating the thrusters on his Glory Battle Armor and floating toward Frieza.

"You insolent fools! How dare you destroy my spaceship?!" Frieza roared.

The Saiyans were willing to talk.

Frieza was not.

He was already filled with pent-up rage, and now these oversized gorillas had not only destroyed his ship but dared to call him a weakling.

He raised his hand and fired an energy blast, intending to test them.

Garna grinned at the incoming attack.

"A weakling is a weakling. Even their energy blasts are soft and useless."

He casually slapped it aside.

The redirected blast slammed into a nearby meteor, obliterating it into cosmic dust.

Garna clasped his hands together.

"Sky Cannon!"

A white beam of energy shot toward Frieza at high speed.

"Hm?"

Frieza's eyes widened slightly as he sensed the intensity. He tried to dodge in his first form—but failed.

The blast engulfed him in a violent explosion, thick smoke spreading through space.

Garna flew back toward his teammates, smiling smugly.

"How was that? Was my Sky Cannon cool or what?"

Toma's expression suddenly changed.

"Watch out!"

He kicked Garna away just as a red energy ray sliced through the space where Garna had been.

The beam grazed Toma's chest and struck a nearby space pod, causing a violent explosion.

Garna spun around in shock, anger turning instantly into cold sweat.

"Captain… thanks!"

Toma didn't answer. His eyes were locked on the smoke ahead.

Slowly, it began to clear.

Frieza floated in place—completely unharmed.

He had transformed into his second form.

Gone was the small, sleek figure. In its place stood a tall, horned, muscular monster.

Just a moment ago—just a little more—and King Frieza might have died.

Fortunately, he had transformed at the last second.

"You barbaric gorillas," Frieza hissed. "You destroyed my ship and nearly injured me."

He conveniently avoided saying he had almost been killed.

Toma and the others stared at him. Their Glory Helmets and ki sensing both confirmed it.

Over one million battle power.

Toma frowned.

"This monster can transform too?"

He thought of the Saiyans' Great Ape form—an instant tenfold boost.

This alien's transformation had barely tripled his strength.

And he dared to call that a transformation?

Saiyans truly were the strongest race.

If this had happened before Bardock's rise, Toma would have enjoyed this—letting his teammates take turns fighting such a rare whetstone.

But Bardock's latest communication order had been clear:

Swarm and kill him immediately.

If you can't kill him, delay him until I arrive.

Do not allow him another chance to transform.

Toma felt a flicker of unease.

Does this creature have more than one transformation?

Still, a king's order was absolute.

"Attack together!" Toma roared. "Speed up the mission!"

He intended to finish this before Bardock arrived.

As captain of the Royal Guard, he had his pride.

Frieza quickly scanned them again with his scouter, face darkening.

"Damn it… even the weakest among these five has more battle power than my first form."

Seeing them rush him simultaneously, he gritted his teeth.

He had learned his lesson.

Garna charged first, roaring, "You dare sneak attack me?!"

There was no such thing as fear in a Saiyan's dictionary. No matter the enemy's strength, they attacked head-on.

Except for King Vegeta—every Saiyan was fearless.

"Garna, be careful!" Toma shouted.

Then he barked at the others, "No holding back! The King is on his way. Do you want him to arrive and see the mission unfinished?"

"Not happening," the only female Saiyan, Seripa, replied without looking back. "When His Majesty arrives, I'll be holding Vegeta."

The battle exploded instantly.

Frieza found himself struggling.

No matter where he moved, one of the Saiyans intercepted him.

He tried to break through their formation—but every attempt was blocked by another crushing attack.

"Damn you cursed gorillas!" Frieza roared.

Toma seized an opening and drove a brutal kick into Frieza's abdomen.

Garna followed with a heavy punch to his back.

The other Saiyans unleashed their special techniques in succession.

For a moment, Frieza was driven back step by step.

His stamina drained rapidly.

The Saiyans, meanwhile, grew more excited the longer they fought.

Their assault became a relentless storm, giving Frieza no room to breathe.

"This won't do."

Frieza's eyes narrowed.

He would have to risk transforming again.

As he began to gather the energy necessary for transformation, Toma sensed it instantly.

"Don't let him transform! Full power attack!"

The Saiyans erupted with even greater ferocity.

Blasts and punches rained down on Frieza, interrupting his transformation mid-process.

Pain wracked his body.

For the first time, genuine fear flickered in his heart.

Am I… Frieza… going to fall to these barbaric gorillas?

But the battle did not pause.

And the Saiyans did not intend to give him even a single breath to recover.
