Zhao Zhenyi stepped forward, her gaze disdainful as she looked at Jiang Yan. "How the Xuanjian Division does things is none of your business, you back-alley rat. You dare stand in front of us this time—do you think that Dragon God makes you invincible?"
The rest folded their arms to watch the show; the storm in the distance hadn't dispersed, so they weren't in a hurry.
Beside them, Zhao Zhenyi's voice rose, her face full of mockery. "Jiang Yan, I'm the one who had your little story posted online. If you're not happy—then come…"
Pfft!
In mid-mockery, Zhao Zhenyi's head simply vanished; none of the people around her reacted in time.
Among them appeared a monster armored entirely in black, its eyes red. In its hand it held Zhao Zhenyi's head, the spine beneath dripping blood.
At this instant Zhao Zhenyi was still conscious; the mockery on her face turned to horror, fear, despair of death.
She had been yanked out by the spine without the slightest chance to respond.
The black-armored monster raised the head high, letting the blood drip down.
'When did it happen?!' At this moment Long Zhengqing, Fang Wenyu and the others' pupils shrank.
Bang-bang-bang! The next instant an irresistible force struck their bodies and every one of them was kicked off the dragon's head.
Jiang Yan, carrying Zhao Zhenyi's head, walked to the edge of the dragon head and shouted at the monsters below, "Kill them!"
"Damn it!" Long Zhengqing plummeted through the air, his face ugly.
They hadn't even started the fight and a Level Five had been instantly erased.
He aimed his left hand at Jiang Yan on the Earth Dragon and clenched hard.
Boom! The entire Earth Dragon deformed, turning into a colossal hand that grabbed at the black-armored monster in its center.
Bang! A loud blast, dust everywhere; the giant hand closed—and then opened—empty. The black-armored figure was gone.
Below, every monster bared a wicked grin; the King of the Deep Sea locked his gaze on the free-falling Fang Wenyu in the distance—he would settle the score from last time.
He would avenge the previous defeat.
Boom! The ground under his feet exploded as the King of the Deep Sea shot forward like a phantom.
Wan Tianhong roared at the on-rushing monster, "Everyone, watch out!"
"Just a bunch of mongrels—think you can make waves?" Wind spiralled around Jiang Ao, instantly righting his body.
His eyes locked on the Red-Haired Man still standing in the distance; instinct told him the man was strong.
But if the opponent weren't strong, he, Jiang Ao, wouldn't even bother.
A tornado formed beneath him, propelling him straight toward the Blood Master on the hilltop.
"Hahaha, kid, let's settle who won last time!" the King of the Deep Sea roared with savage glee as he adjusted course mid-air toward Fang Wenyu.
Fang Wenyu glanced at the King of the Deep Sea, then at Qin Wan falling beside him, and said quickly, "Drag it in and finish it fast!"
"Got it!" Qin Wan formed a seven with her hands, flipped them, and aimed at the King of the Deep Sea now only a hundred metres away.
"Doulin Realm!"
Qin Wan shouted; spatial ripples flashed from her hands over Fang Wenyu and the King of the Deep Sea.
Whoosh! In the next instant the two humans and the monster vanished.
Inside a yellow-earth pocket space the King of the Deep Sea looked up at the sky.
Above was a star-studded firmament with a cold moon shining at its centre.
A hundred metres away Fang Wenyu tossed his glasses aside and stared at the King of the Deep Sea. "Let's see how you escape me this time without outside interference."
Beside him hovered Qin Wan; she reached out and grabbed at the King of the Deep Sea. "Less talk—kill it first."
Buzz! With her grab an invisible force abruptly clamped around the monster's body.
In that instant Fang Wenyu shot toward the King of the Deep Sea, his speed fifty percent faster than in the outside world.
He sprang, arrived in front of the monster, and slammed a fist straight out.
"Aaargh!" The King of the Deep Sea struggled, always feeling he was a hair's breadth from breaking free.
Bang! He could only watch the fist smash into his face.
'Even stronger than last time!' One punch left him dazed; if he hadn't absorbed the soul crystal, the blow might have broken his guard.
'Harder than last time!' Fang Wenyu's eyes narrowed when he saw the King of the Deep Sea still unbroken.
After the punch the King of the Deep Sea's king-type trait activated, adding a sliver of strength.
Qin Wan, controlling him from behind, frowned. "Its power seems to be growing."
Within the Doulin Realm it was her domain: she could boost allies, weaken and restrain foes, and observe everything with a god's-eye view.
"No matter how strong it gets, if one punch won't do, use ten." Fang Wenyu rained fists on the immobilised King of the Deep Sea.
Bang-bang-bang! Thunderous blows echoed through the space.
Splash-splash! Before long the sudden sound of surging seawater interrupted them.
Seawater had appeared on the ground and was rising at terrifying speed.
"Hmph-hmph-hmph, did you think two of you could kill this king?" The moment the water touched his feet the King of the Deep Sea broke free of the invisible hold, shattered scales on his face already knitting back together.
Its once-broken scales were regenerating.
Qin Wan's expression flickered; she couldn't expel the seawater that had appeared.
Fang Wenyu's look didn't change; he charged the King of the Deep Sea again.
As always, unless facing a Level Six far above him or some freak ability, he feared no one in close combat... Outside, Wei Gaocheng's group, racing toward the Capital, also noticed Huo Tian rushing at them.
With his Bird-Man eyesight Wei Gaocheng instantly recognised the man as Huo Tian, the very person they had been searching for.
"It's Huo Tian—perfect! He's delivered himself to us. Let's go!" Wei Gaocheng grinned, flung Han Qi and Li Yong to the ground, and shot forward.
Han Qi bared a wicked smile. "Then let's do it!"
They had studied Huo Tian's intel: his strength was bottom-tier Level Five, and they had recently grown stronger; their eagerness couldn't be contained.
He and Li Yong sprinted across the ground toward their target.
