"So, what kind of life do you want to lead in this new world? I know you've always dreamed of exploration and freedom," Sigi said to Ivar;
"Yeah, but not right now. I want to see how things will turn out for our species; I have a feeling it's going to be a pretty good life to be among the most powerful while hiding your true power," Ivar replied.
Suddenly, massive fighter jets swooped in right below them and they realized that rescue operations had begun.
"It looks like Yggdrasil is going to establish itself in other places," said Sigi.
"Yes, I think we should crash the party and earn some points, you're the one who told me that the rescue teams would be rewarded with points for the new Yggdrasil coin," said Ivar, letting himself fall.
He and Sigi headed towards one of the machines and saw other men flying.
"Hi, my name is Ivar and this is Sigi, my brother. I wanted to ask you which city we are going to?" Ivar said to the stranger.
"Ah, okay, you are one of the people who volunteered. My name is Herique, I was in the army before, and we are heading towards the Republic of Lyrenia, specifically its capital. We have to plant a world tree seed there, and while it grows, we will gather the entire population of the country in an area near the tree so that they can easily access it," replied Herique.
"How long will it take for the tree to reach its maximum size?" asked Sigi.
"Four days," replied a member of the squadron.
"And you think the Lyrians will cooperate?" Ivar asked.
"Before launching the mission, the Norns asked them if they wanted help and explained how it would go, and they accepted," Herique replied.
"Flying squadron, we are now accelerating," transmitted the deployment leader.
"Understood," replied the squadron members.
"Those who cannot reach Mach 3, please return to theStormcatcher"transmitted the head of deployment.
Everyone gets into Stormfangs except Ivar, Sigi, and Herique.
"You should also get into the craft, even if you can fly at that speed, you will still need armor with at least an S-rank flight rune," Herique told the two brothers.
"Don't worry about us," Ivar replied.
The first BANG was that of the Stormfang, which was followed by that of Heric and the two brothers who positioned themselves just behind the ship.
After joining them, Herique understood why Ivar and Sigi were not worried about the hot and violent winds that are impossible to endure without runic armor.
"I had forgotten that the Stormfang was built with special alloys marked with a speed rune," said Herique.
Runes are a set of words that only druids or aPactarisA+ rank could be used; unlike normal magic, which manifests and modifies phenomena found in nature, such as combustion or violent winds, according to our understanding of the world, and through mana as an energy source, runic magic requires a minimum amount of mana to speak or carve a word, and after doing so, the manifestation has nothing to do with mana. For example, if a druid carves the word "fire" on a piece of wood, the fire that ignites on the wood will not burn or consume the wood itself; it will become a characteristic of the wood, burning everything that touches it, but never the wood itself.
And that is how the Stormfang ship works with a speed rune so when the ship breaks the sound barrier it does not create a shock wave, nor a zone of turbulence behind it but rather a zone where the air ceases to be a storm and becomes rather a fast and silent river into which one can insert oneself provided one follows the movement.
ArrivingKidney, the capital of Lyrenia and the entire squadron understood that they had been extremely lucky to have Yggdrasil.
Before them lay a scene of destruction and desolation; what was once one of the most beautiful cities in the world had become a pile of ruins and destruction; almost all the skyscrapers had been destroyed, only four or five remained.
"Prepare for deployment, the mission is to secure the area for the germination of the world tree seed so you must pacify the city in less than twelve hours" transmitted the squadron leader.
"Ivar, Sigi, you will first give us your races and rank," said Heric.
"I am an S-class Titan and Sigi is also an S-class mage warrior," Ivar replied.
"Wait, what? You're both S-class," Heric asked.
"Yeah," replied Sigi.
"Why the question?" asked Ivar.
"In the squadron, the most powerful is B+ class and that's me, there are only 10 S class units in Yggdrasil, we were informed that two were missing so it was you," Herique asked.
"I have to say that right after we were recorded, we went to see how high Yggdrasil would go," said Ivar.
"Yeah, honestly, it was really stupid to disappear like that, imagine we didn't even tell our parents or Marie," added Sigi.
"Wait a minute, how old are you both?" Heric asked.
"I am 17 years old and Ivar is 18 years old," replied Sigi.
"Well, I'm sorry to tell you, but we have to go home. We've already been away far too long, so we're each going to clean two of the skyscrapers and then we'll go home," said Ivar.
"Hey Ivar, you're a titan but you don't even have a contract with a single spirit," Sgi told him.
"Then I will take advantage of this to conclude a high-level contract," replied Ivar.
Ivar begins by executing a movement with his fingers and a light in the shape of the infinity symbol emerges from these movements, and expands above them.
A muffled sound came from the symbol, followed by flashes of light. A creature all black, but with edges traced by light, came and clung to Ivar; and merged with him.
"TRANO" said Ivar.
