Chapter 110 - Chapter 110 – Chaos, Resurrection, and the Harp

"Brothers, let's get to it!" Bruce Wayne shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos as he hurled two grenades toward Apocalypse. The explosions flew forward, but in a startling display of power, Apocalypse's eyes flickered and the grenades bounced harmlessly back as if repelled by an invisible shield. Li Jie, reacting instantly, conjured a shimmering defensive barrier that absorbed the impact of the grenades while simultaneously scolding, "Bat, when did you become so reckless?"

Batman looked a bit embarrassed, scratching the back of his head. "Excuse me. I just felt there was a bit of an awkward silence, and I wanted to liven things up. Let me do it." He gave a sheepish grin as if trying to downplay his impulsiveness.

Seizing the moment, Superman unleashed two beams of blazing heat directly at Apocalypse's chest. The power of his heat vision burned through the air and struck Apocalypse with incredible intensity, instantly creating a hole in his torso. Batman raised a thumbs-up in admiration at the display, but then his expression shifted to concern as he noticed the wound beginning to close. "Am I seeing things? That guy's body… it's recovering."

Indeed, the hole in Apocalypse's chest began to knit itself back together visibly. His extraordinary vitality, coupled with his terrifying ability to absorb the life force of others, allowed him to heal almost instantaneously. Superman's devastating heat vision, powerful as it was, had failed to kill him. Recognizing the danger, Li Jie teleported directly in front of Apocalypse and struck him with a precise, forceful punch.

Superman's physical prowess remained unmatched, a nearly unstoppable force even among the mightiest heroes of the DC universe. Under the onslaught, Apocalypse could only endure the blows, unable to retaliate effectively. Li Jie's mind raced as he observed the battlefield: Scarlet Witch hesitated at the side, Wonder Woman remained in observation mode, and Apocalypse's relentless vitality posed a constant threat.

Despite enduring relentless attacks, Apocalypse finally collapsed to the ground, motionless for a fleeting moment. Yet, the moral code of the heroes—Superman and Batman—prevented them from delivering a lethal blow. Even with the upper hand, they refrained from killing, leaving him alive, if only barely. Apocalypse's telekinetic power, however, sent Superman hurtling into the wall, reminding everyone that he remained a dangerous adversary.

"Let me handle this," Scarlet Witch shouted, her voice ringing with authority. She unleashed a surge of chaos magic toward Apocalypse, attempting to strike from a distance. Apocalypse raised a hand, blocking the attack, but Superman, now furious at the ongoing threat, exhaled a burst of icy cold air, freezing Apocalypse solid. Scarlet Witch's magic took advantage of the opportunity, shattering the frozen enemy into countless fragments.

Nearby, Mr. Terrified, pretending to be dead, realized he could no longer remain hidden. He attempted to escape, only to feel an overwhelming force dragging him back. "Ah, no!" he screamed, as his life force rapidly drained from his body. Meanwhile, Apocalypse, though shattered into fragments, began to rise again, exclaiming with triumph, "No one in this world can kill me…"

Li Jie remained calm, his strategy precise. He had cast a powerful time spell on Apocalypse, forcing him to repeatedly experience death and resurrection along the timeline. Scarlet Witch, noticing the unusual effect, demanded, "What are you doing?"

Li Jie turned, only to discover that the Loki Scepter, which Scarlet Witch had been temporarily holding, was now in the hands of Batman. "Tsk tsk. This was originally mine; I simply took back what was rightfully mine," he stated matter-of-factly.

It quickly became evident that the public figure of Batman here was not Bruce Wayne at all, but Loki in disguise. Wonder Woman's shocked call of "Loki!" went unanswered as he playfully blew a kiss and vanished, leaving only an illusion behind. Scarlet Witch apologized, a hint of frustration in her tone. "Excuse me, I didn't keep a close eye on the scepter."

"It's okay. Who told that guy to be Loki?" Li Jie replied, dismissing the incident with a calm shrug. He created a teleportation portal, arriving outside the pyramid, where chaos still reigned. Mutants ran amok, the Hulk chased them relentlessly, and Magneto lay motionless on the sand, blood trickling from his mouth and metal fragments scattered across his body. Mystique dragged him along, attempting to escape the battlefield.

Li Jie called out, "Can anyone quiet the Hulk down?" Superman feigned ignorance, pretending not to hear. Scarlet Witch stepped forward, observing the enraged giant from a distance. Without any obvious action on her part, the Hulk's fury subsided instantly. Li Jie realized her telepathic power had grown immensely. She now possessed full telepathic control, no longer dependent on Loki's scepter or any external tool.

To confirm her abilities, Li Jie instructed, "Do me one more favor and tell the mutants that Apocalypse is dead."

She asked pointedly, "Do you want these mutants here to know, or all the mutants in the world?"

"Let all mutants know the battle with humans has been canceled."

Scarlet Witch closed her eyes and spoke softly, her voice resolute, "Apocalypse is dead, and the previous plan has been canceled. Humanity is not our enemy. We should unite to overcome these challenges together."

Meanwhile, in New York, Coulson sat across from Li Jie, his expression guilty and hesitant, as though he had done something terribly wrong. "Did I really give the order to wage war against mutants?" he whispered, pausing as if afraid to continue. "No… I mean, why don't I even remember this?"

Li Jie explained calmly, "I've investigated. Loki infiltrated and took control of your mind. For some time, you were his puppet."

Coulson sighed with relief, a lingering tremor of fear in his voice. "Jack, thank goodness you stopped this war, otherwise I…" He trailed off, then ran off and returned with a small metal combination lock box. Inside was a tiny glass vial, no larger than a thumb, filled with a flowing green molten substance.

"Dionysian Factor!" Li Jie exclaimed, surprised. Coulson, still a little flustered, explained, "It was given to me by a female Claw when she defected to S.H.I.E.L.D. The Court of Owls trained her from childhood as an assassin. Their metal alloys contain Dionysian Factor."

Li Jie carefully examined the vial, confirming that it held pure Dionysian Factor, far more potent than the metal alloys he had anticipated. Curious, he asked, "Which superhero should we resurrect first?" Telepathy would be crucial; without it, he could be manipulated by powerful telepaths like Apocalypse, Loki, or even Scarlet Witch.

"Professor X," Li Jie decided. With Professor X, alongside leaders like Magneto, he could restrain mutants and prevent further conflict with humanity. Coulson looked disappointed, hoping for a more combat-oriented hero, but Li Jie was merely informing him, not seeking approval.

Outside the teleportation portal, Li Jie was immediately surrounded by the three Hen brothers, hiding around him. "Don't fight over it; there's plenty for everyone." He handed them a bag of food.

"Ah, chocolate! Cola! Even beer!" they exclaimed with excitement. Li Jie quickly reclaimed the beer. "This isn't for you. It's for the professor." He gave them Coke instead and requested to be guided to Professor X.

In the converted office-turned-prison cell, Li Jie met Professor X and explained the resurrection plan. "You don't need to worry. Batman was resurrected this way," he reassured him. Professor X smiled, noting he was too old for the method to matter personally.

Li Jie asked, "Then who should I resurrect?"

"Resurrect the harp," Professor X replied. She was the academy's best student and teacher, and with her back, the school would be secure. Li Jie felt a wave of relief—Jean Grey was perfect. She possessed telepathy rivaling Professor X, telekinesis surpassing Magneto, and the Phoenix bloodline, granting her power comparable to chaos magic. One resurrection, one ideal choice.

"All right, let's revive the harp then," Li Jie confirmed.

He injected Qin, the zombie mutant, with the Dionysian Factor, followed by an antitoxin. As the antidote took effect, Qin stopped breathing. Then, suddenly, she arched her body before collapsing heavily onto the bed. Opening her eyes, she met Li Jie's gaze softly.

"Jack," she whispered.

"You know me?" Li Jie asked, surprised.

"The professor told me everything through his telepathy. Thank you for saving me," she replied. "And for giving me so many incredible skills."

"You're welcome," Li Jie said. Qin stood and added, "If you ever need me or the academy's help in the future, just let me know."
