Although he said he wanted to retrieve the "Star Map," putting it into actual practice proved difficult for Emrys.
The Fernando family had dominated Roaming Port for nearly several centuries, their influence deeply entrenched. Not only had they openly bribed nobles and naval commanders and possessed a large number of private soldiers, but they also secretly colluded with various heretics!
"Traitors! This Fernando family is absolutely a bunch of traitors, a cancer to the Imperium!" Emrys slammed the table in anger, his eyes wide.
"Yes, yes, calm down first." Stark reluctantly brought a cup of tea and advised, "It's just a Star Map, isn't it? If all else fails, we'll launch a sneak attack and snatch it from them!"
"What do you mean, snatch? We are upholding justice, maintaining Imperial law!" Emrys retorted righteously, "I am absolutely not after any divine artifact, nor am I after the Star Map. I am following Imperial law. Such traitors must be severely punished, otherwise, how can we save the Imperium if we associate with such parasites?!"
Stark's mouth twitched, his gaze drifting to the Eldar War Witch who was happily enjoying a Grox steak and Amatech wine nearby. He then glanced next door at the Necrons, who were pondering how to repair a damaged human skin, and couldn't help but let out a deep sigh.
Honestly, he didn't think "Emrys" was a good person. Given the complex situation on his own warship, if the Fernando family saw it, they would probably also exclaim "Heretic" and "Traitor."
Everyone's in the same boat, so no one should criticize anyone else.
Oh, almost forgot… there was also a suit of armor squatting in the corner, and inside that thing was a C'tan!
Sometimes, Stark really admired Emrys. How did he manage to cram these guys into one room without them fighting?!
Eldar, Necrons, C'tan fragments — just thinking about these guys together would make the Inquisition find it absurd!
"What do you two think about this?" Emrys looked at the two of them, as he couldn't discuss such matters with Carol for fear of angering the old man to death.
"Simple!" Hilda swallowed the last large piece of steak, then wiped her mouth and patted her chest. "Leave it to me. Take a few hundred Eldar, disguise them as Drukhari, break in, and steal the thing, won't that work?"
People do indeed sneer when speechless. Emrys sighed, rubbing his forehead, "Not to mention we don't know the location of the thing. Even if we did, if a few hundred Eldar could steal it, Fernando wouldn't need to wait for us to act; he would have been killed by the Eldar, Ork pirates, and Chaos Lords long ago."
Hilda said "Oh," and simply threw up her hands. "Then I have no other way. I only know how to disguise myself as a Drukhari and rob."
"Alright, you can continue eating."
Emrys decisively gave up on Hilda and turned his gaze to the Necrons. "What about you? Do you have any ideas?"
"If you need it, I can ask Trazyn for you." Trazak was still fiddling with the torn human skin, saying lazily, "I think he would be very happy to help you. A few Necron Lords sent over would be enough to level the Fernando family."
"That's enough, no more."
Emrys was already regretting it a bit. He shouldn't have placed his hopes on these two guys who weren't even human. What was all this?!
"Why not just leave simple matters to me?" At this moment, the "Void Dragon" in the corner spoke. "You?" Emrys expressed his suspicion, scrutinizing it from head to toe. "What kind of ideas could you possibly have?"
"As long as you agree to cooperate with me a little and build a large machine," the Void Dragon's metallic eye sockets gleamed with intense greed, "Then I will devour all the souls of the humans in the entire Roaming Port. Whatever you want, you will have, won't you?"
"You can scram."
Emrys' mouth twitched, almost unable to resist kicking the troublesome bastard flying.
What kind of ideas were these? Either disguising as Drukhari for a sneak attack, or summoning a Necron army to besiege the city, or even devouring all the humans in the entire port.
Stark, listening nearby, broke out in a cold sweat. What kind of people were in this room? They talked about leveling a port at the drop of a hat; it was too dangerous!
"But you can't deny that my method is the most direct and effective, can you?" the Void Dragon said with a sneer.
"Most effective? I'd be dead for sure!" Emrys cursed irritably, "If I really massacred Roaming Port, I'd be waiting to be hunted down by the Mechanicus and the Imperium. If you keep looking for trouble, don't blame me for hitting you!"
The Void Dragon pouted, wanting to argue a few words about what the Mechanicus was, but fearing a beating, it shrank back and remained silent.
"Not a single reliable one!"
Emrys could only helplessly think for himself, trying to find a method with as little risk as possible.
Facts proved that three incompetent people couldn't equal one brilliant strategist.
Things hadn't yet escalated to a war with Fernando. If they resorted to force, it would mean tearing off all pretenses, leaving no room for retreat.
Currently, he didn't understand the Fernando family well enough, so there was no need to push things to that point.
"No matter what, we must meet first to decide what to do." After a long deliberation, Emrys could only take one step at a time. After meeting the Fernando family, he would decide his next actions based on their attitude.
If they could negotiate, he wouldn't mind paying some price to retrieve the important Star Map stored by his family, and he could even gain a friend.
But if negotiation wasn't possible… then there was no other way.
At worst, they would sink Roaming Port!
"Welcome to Kronos Expanse Zone, Roaming Port. The Fernando family reminds you that this is a trading area.
Violence is prohibited, otherwise, it will be punishable by death!"
As soon as he stepped into Roaming Port, Emrys heard the welcome announcement in the starport and couldn't help but frown. "What an arrogant attitude."
This was an Imperial facility, yet the welcome message was from the Fernando family, even explicitly stating its underlying threat, which showed how powerful it was.
"What now? What should we do?"
Stark, disguised as a guard beside him, asked, puffing on a cigar, a wisp of smoke curling around him.
"Let's look around." Emrys said, handing his "Luggage" to Stark, tidying his clothes, and stating calmly, "We are ordinary nobles who arrived with a merchant ship. Don't give us away."
"Heh, I taught you your pain, so just make sure you don't give us away." Stark chuckled, carrying the "Luggage" and following him.
Emrys had deliberately faked his identity verification information, arriving at Roaming Port a step ahead, intending to see just how powerful this Fernando Trader Dynasty truly was.
"Hello, are you Mr. Stark?"
In the port's reception hall, a female attendant with an excellent figure walked over with long legs, a smile on her face. "I am your host, responsible for guiding you on a tour of Roaming Port."
"Hmm?" Emrys raised an eyebrow. "I don't recall having requested a host."
"Is this your first time here?"
The female attendant smiled slightly, replying with a somewhat formal tone, "Nobles visiting Roaming Port for the first time must be accompanied by an official host to tour the port. This is a regulation of the Fernando family. Of course, nobles who have visited many times will wear a unique transit medallion for identification."
"What is a transit medallion?"
Emrys asked curiously.
"A transit medallion is a special medallion issued by the Fernando family to clients. Depending on the level, you can access different areas and purchase different items," the attendant said with a smile.
"Oh? What's the difference?" Emrys became even more curious about the Fernando family.
"Many things. For example, the core trading zone and the Fernando family's annual auction," the attendant said. "Only VIPs with a Level 3 transit pass are allowed into the auction. There, anything you can imagine, you can find!"
They were both Rogue Trader Dynasties, but why did his feel so far behind them?!
Emrys felt a bit depressed.
