Chapter 260 - Magician

As the saying goes, when you encounter an insurmountable difficulty, you might as well consider a boarding tactic. By the way, Emrys said this.

And as the leader of this massive hive cluster, the Hive Tyrant, tasked by the Hive Mind, clearly misjudged the human's courage.

How dare he bring only one person to infiltrate the core of the Tyranids swarm? Isn't that seeking death?!

Emrys was met with a roar.

It was the overlord of the hive, the vanguard of the Great Devourer, a top predator towering above the entire swarm. How could it fear a mere human?

Seeking death!

This was Emrys' first time seeing a top Tyranid predator. It had a carapace covered in spikes, four strong and powerful arms, each wielding a bone-like serrated greatsword. A fierce, brutal aura surged towards him like a tide!

Emrys, clad in his armor and wearing "Yarngripper," felt power continuously surging. With the aid of his thrusters, his speed suddenly soared, his target clear: the Hive Tyrant!

As a top predator, the Hive Tyrant naturally wouldn't flinch. Its forelimbs, thicker than a Land Raider Lascannon, swung the bone greatsword, unleashing a powerful strike at the diving Emrys!

The force of this strike was enough to overturn a heavy tank!

Emrys abruptly stopped and turned in mid-air, tracing a 'Z' shape, almost grazing the edge of the sword.

He dodged the Hive Tyrant's attack!

In the Hive Tyrant's compound eyes, a hint of triumph flickered. It had four arms, after all!

In an instant, with an agility completely at odds with its massive body, two arms swept with bone swords, and one arm blocked, forming a dense web of slaughter. Emrys' act of dodging the initial sword strike had instantly turned into a self-inflicted trap!

However, the next second...

The Hive Tyrant was dumbfounded. It was confident that its blockade could not be dodged, but to its surprise, Emrys, pierced by the blade, transformed into countless butterflies!

Hoggus' Ancient Body!

The scattered butterflies dispersed, and the Hive Tyrant froze, its compound eyes searching everywhere for Emrys' figure. But just as its psychic power began to detect him!

Emrys clasped his hands together, drawing forth bolts of lightning imbued with scorching brilliance.

"Lightning of Bosat!"

This move, requiring a long preparation time, often needed an opening in actual combat. The time the Hive Tyrant spent distracted and confused was just enough for him to prepare this attack!

Boom!!!

Lightning, as violent as magma, conducted along the ground and air, like a leaping giant dragon, roaring as it slammed into the Hive Tyrant's body!

The immense magic damage directly tore through the Hive Tyrant's carapace, causing it to let out a scream.

"Didn't expect that, did you? Your is a mage!!"

Emrys saw the deep confusion flash in the Hive Tyrant's eyes, sneered, and formed another hand seal:

"Form of Aion!"

His body suddenly dispersed!

He couldn't create dozens of illusions at once like Doctor Strange, but he could manage a few!

Immediately after, several clones whipped out energy whips, binding the Hive Tyrant. Emrys, the original, seized this momentary opening and surged forward, raising his sword from below and unleashing a powerful, charged upward slash!

Slaaash!!!

The Blade of Atropos effortlessly cut through the Hive Tyrant's hard carapace, as easily as a hot knife through butter!

With one leg severed, the Hive Tyrant lost its balance. Emrys immediately pressed his advantage!

"Die, you hear me!!!" He gripped his sword with both hands, about to end the Hive Tyrant's life, when the corner of his eye caught a dark shadow hurtling towards him!

Winnie suddenly flashed, striking with her sword.

Clang!!!

Blazing flames erupted, but the dark shadow didn't retreat a single step. The sky was suddenly enveloped in shadow!

Winnie sensed danger, grabbed his shoulder, and leaped back with force!

At the same time, several heavy units arrived, and intense flames engulfed the Hive Tyrant. Simultaneously, dozens of heavily armored Tyranids surrounded them!

"These are — Tyrant Guards?"

Emrys recognized the Tyranids.

These Tyranids, clad in thick purple carapaces and resembling silverback gorillas, were designed to withstand long-range firepower and guard the Hive Tyrant; their defense was almost maxed out!

Even the ceramite armor of Space Marine couldn't match the defensive capabilities of Tyrant Guards. They could even directly withstand the siege cannons of Land Raider Redeemer tanks!

A burst of specialized armor-piercing bolter rounds slammed into the carapaces of the Tyrant Guards in front, sparks flying. It only managed to blast out a few dents, which truly opened Emrys' eyes, and he couldn't help but click his tongue.

"What hard chitinous carapaces. What do these things even eat to grow so big?!"

Tyrant Guards had almost no weaknesses; they didn't even have eyes. If one had to say, perhaps their thick carapaces made them slower and less flexible.

But this was relative. From the perspective of a regular Astra Militarum soldier, the speed of Tyrant Guards was still astonishingly fast!

Under the heavy bombardment of the Tyrant Guards and the Hive Guards in the rear, the Hive Tyrant actually burrowed deep into the swarm, attempting to escape.

A top predator, running away?!

Actually, it wasn't incomprehensible. In just one encounter, Emrys had almost cut it down. What else was it supposed to do but run?!

It was a top predator, not an idiot!

Knowing it couldn't win, yet still stubbornly going for it, only foolish humans would do that. It had an absolute advantage; wasn't it better to overwhelm Emrys with numbers?

"Someone has to stop these things." Emrys frowned. The troublesome nature of these creatures was a bit beyond his expectations.

It wasn't that they couldn't be dealt with, but having to contend with both the Tyrant Guards and the Hive Tyrant at the same time was simply too difficult to manage.

"I'll hold them off." Winnie also saw this point. She held her sword in front of her, blocking the restless Tyrant Guards, her golden hair fluttering. Her voice was cool.

"You deal with the Hive Tyrant."

"You trust me that much?" Emrys licked his dry lips, a crimson glint in his eyes. His emotions gradually ignited, as if placed in a scorching furnace, blood-red flames slowly rising around him.

"Aren't you afraid I'm just bragging and will get you killed again?"

"Will you?" Winnie tilted her head, giving him a sidelong glance.

"Besides, it wasn't you who got me killed that time; it was my own choice. I believe you won't betray my trust. It's that simple."

Poison mist?

No, in the helmet's detection mode, Emrys frowned slightly. These poison mists clearly also contained corrosive properties. He didn't care, but what about Winnie?

Just as he was thinking this, he turned his head and saw Winnie enveloped in golden light. Wherever she went, evil was dispelled, and the poison mist retreated!

God damn, is this Neoth's personal choice?!

Relieved of worrying about Winnie, Emrys no longer held back. Wednesday's two linked shoulder cannons fired precise bursts, shattering the Tyranids releasing the poison mist.

Then, with a boost from his thrusters, his speed surged dramatically, as fast as lightning. He plunged into the mouth of a gigantic Tyranids, forcefully smashing it from the inside out, exploding into a shower of blood and gore!

"Come on, why are you running?!" Emrys' purple power armor was covered in the Tyranids's viscous blood and flesh. He grinned like a daemon from hell, chasing after the fleeing Hive Tyrant.

If the Hive Tyrant could speak, it would surely want to shout.

"Don't come any closer!"
