Chapter 244 - Fooled

The Void Dragon never expected that he, who thought his plan had failed and that he would have to remain in this eternal cage, enduring endless suffering, would actually have a day where things turned around and a new path emerged!

"What do you want?"

Mag'ladroth was a bit impatient, so he simply laid his cards on the table. Since deception hadn't worked, he could only rely on other methods, such as... enticement!

"Whatever you ask for, I can help you achieve it!" he said proudly.

In fact, the Void Dragon was indeed qualified to say this, as he was a "Star God" who possessed the most advanced technology.

What couldn't he accomplish?

Moreover, he wasn't like the useless "Nightbringer" or "Deciever" who only knew how to kill and deceive.

The knowledge and technology he possessed could easily arm an Imperium, allowing a weak race to embark on a path to prosperity!

What reason could there be to refuse knowledge?

Whether he could do it or not, he would agree first. After escaping from here, he would find an opportunity to kill this arrogant human!

"It's very simple."

Emrys, sitting cross-legged on the ground, looked at the eager Void Dragon, a familiar smile appearing on his face.

"You help me find a way to repel the Tyranid Hive Fleet, and I'll let you out of here. How about that?"

"That's it?!"

The Void Dragon was stunned for a few seconds.

In his imagination, the conditions Emrys would propose should have been much more difficult to fulfill, such as conquering the Milky Way Galaxy or possessing powerful weapons. But in the end, it was only something of this level?

He even suspected that this kid was playing a trick!

"Don't worry, I'm not one of your Star Gods." Emrys shrugged and cupped his hands.

"My condition is that simple. You give me a way to repel the Tyranid Hive Fleet, and I'll release you from here. No tricks, I swear on the name of the God-Emperor!"

It must be said that the two words "God-Emperor" were indeed effective in the Warhammer Universe. Even the Star Gods knew of this human "Immortal."

"Good, no problem!"

The terms of the deal Emrys proposed were not difficult at all for a Star God who was once considered the strongest (after the Nightbringer shattered) and possessed incredibly advanced technology, like the Void Dragon.

The Tyranid Hive Fleet might be a very thorny issue, or even a catastrophe, for many races in the universe, but in his eyes, it was merely a trivial matter.

"But to crush the Hive Fleet in a short time, with my current power alone, it would be difficult," the Void Dragon said. "Unless you can help me find a complete fragment."

"—Then let's pretend we never met."

Saying that, Emrys, without hesitation, patted his bottom and prepared to leave.

"Don't rush, wait, don't go!" Seeing Emrys about to leave, the Void Dragon immediately became anxious.

He was truly afraid. If he couldn't escape this time, once the Necrons repaired this cage, he would never be able to escape again!

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, he couldn't lady it!

The Void Dragon called out to Emrys, who was about to leave, his tone even carrying a hint of pleading.

"I was just joking, I have other ways, don't go!"

"Why bother?" Emrys sighed, looking at him with disdain.

"I'm sincerely making a deal with you, but you insist on playing tricks. If you talk nonsense again next time, don't call me. You can just stay here and wait for the next fated person."

"Yes, yes, no more tricks—"

The Void Dragon cursed inwardly for a few moments, but his tone was humble as he said.

"I can also help you create a special weapon that can guide the energy of the material universe. The downside is that it's relatively slow, but once completed, destroying the entire Hive Fleet shouldn't be a problem!"

"Really?"

"Really, I swear on the name of Mag'ladroth, on the honor of a Star God!"

"...Do you Star Gods even have honor, shame, or morality?" Emrys expressed his doubt, scrutinizing him up and down. What honor could a ball of energy talk about?

The Void Dragon felt very aggrieved, but he couldn't argue.

"Forget it, I believe you." Emrys shook his head. There was no way to bind this thing with a Warp oath, so he had no choice but to trust him.

"You tell me the manufacturing method, and then I'll release you from here."

However, the Void Dragon became wary, staring at him.

"How can I trust that you will release me from here after knowing the manufacturing method?"

"I swear on the name of the God-Emperor!"

Emrys was serious, raising three fingers, swearing to the Emperor far away on Terra.

"No, you must swear by your soul to the Warp!" This time the Void Dragon was very cunning and smart, directly asking Emrys to swear by his own soul to the Warp.

This way, if he broke his oath, Emrys would suffer the punishment of the Warp!

"Fine, no problem." Emrys sneered inwardly, then spoke with an upright demeanor.

"I, Merlin Emrys , swear by my own soul to the Warp, that as soon as the Void Dragon reveals the weapon's manufacturing method, I will release him from the cage and provide him with a 'container.' Is that acceptable?"

The Void Dragon stared at him, and after confirming that the oath was fine, he finally relaxed.

"No problem, I'll tell you the manufacturing method now."

"How will you tell me?" Emrys glanced at him.

"You're not planning to possess my body after I get close, are you?"

"Of course not—"

The Void Dragon shifted his gaze, exerting all his strength to infuse a wisp of consciousness into a piece of living metal.

"I have already engraved the manufacturing method in here."

Emrys was about to take it, but then saw the Void Dragon cautiously pull it back.

"Wait, what about what you promised me?"

"What's the rush?"

Emrys sighed, then conjured a metal armor covered in sharp spikes out of thin air.

"How about this?

I went through a lot of trouble to get this armor; it's definitely not a loss to exchange it for your technology!"

With just one glance, the Void Dragon was tempted.

The metal used to forge that armor was even more suitable for him than living metal. It could not only perfectly contain his consciousness but also provide energy!

"Excellent, excellent—"

He gazed at the armor obsessively, expressing his excitement.

"What kind of metal is this? Such powerful affinity, as if it was born to be a vessel for a Star God!"

"Oh, this thing is 'Uru.'"

Looking at the tempted Void Dragon, Emrys also smiled as if "empathizing," though his smile contained some unclear emotions.

"Give it to me!"

The Void Dragon said impatiently.

"Alright."

Emrys, without another word, threw the Destroyer over.

As for a trap?

What a joke, he was the Void Dragon!

A Star God who possessed the most advanced technology and knowledge!

Mag'ladroth sneered inwardly. Apart from the Necrons who knew the Star Gods' secrets, he didn't believe anyone else in this universe could imprison him!

Thinking of this, Mag'ladroth' confidence increased by a few points. He immediately stopped hesitating and, using the only "Loophole" in this cage, transferred his consciousness into that metal armor.

"Welcome to the 'container' I prepared for you, Void Dragon Mag'ladroth." Emrys' face... he had pretended for so long to make the Void Dragon willingly merge into this 'container,' and it hadn't been in vain!

Looking at Emrys, who had a triumphant look of having achieved his cunning plan, the Void Dragon's heart skipped a beat.

"Oh no, I didn't fall for it again, did I?"

Wait, why did I say 'again'?
