Chapter 118 - Chapter 119: Let Me See

Chapter 119: Let Me See

City Z.

A bald man in casual pajamas lay ungracefully on a floor cushion, sipping cola while watching the day's TV program.

"What are you even saying?! BANKAI!"

Seeing the main character selectively go deaf again, completely ignoring the villain's long speech to unleash his ultimate move and slash, Saitama nodded in approval.

"That's how it should be. In other anime, they always rely on 'Talk no Jutsu.' Ichigo Kurosaki is fierce—just slash on sight, don't listen to a word the enemy says."

Suddenly, he sat up, staring at the floor with a slightly dull expression.

Hm? Why does it feel like the floor is vibrating? Is it an earthquake?

Saitama pressed his ear to the floor, his expression instantly becoming serious. His simple, doodle-like face transformed into sharp, angular features.

[Serious Series: Serious Listening]!

In an instant, Saitama's hearing expanded, picking up every movement underground with crystal clarity.

Monster King... Gaia Cannon... Strongest Man on Earth...

Huh? Strongest Man on Earth?

Saitama paused for a second before realizing. Wait, isn't that King?!

"Great. I was wondering why King disappeared when he went out to buy snacks. Turns out he went underground to secretly fight monsters without me!"

Since he was bored anyway, Saitama changed into his classic yellow hero suit. He leaped from the balcony and landed lightly on the ground.

I'd better go down and check. Otherwise, if King and that Monster King fight too hard, they might accidentally demolish my apartment building. After all, King's apartment is right above mine!

Saitama jogged over to a manhole cover, tossed the heavy steel lid aside like it was cardboard, and jumped in, disappearing into the dark sewer tunnel.

Meanwhile, Monster Association Cavern.

Monster King Orochi's shattered head fell through the air.

Even in the moment of impending death, his eyes held no fear or despair. Instead, there was a deeply hidden excitement.

"How could this be... As the King of Monsters, why could my strongest attack not harm you in the slightest? And you didn't even seem to defend..."

Before his consciousness faded, the question Orochi cared about most was why King could effortlessly block all his attacks.

He could sense that King wasn't relying on pure defense; it felt as if his attacks were being adapted to.

King didn't answer Orochi's question. Instead, he threw another punch, blasting the already shattered head into dust.

"Asking so many questions when you're about to die."

King muttered a complaint, then waved his hand. Psychokinesis swept up the rest of Orochi's broken body, twisting it into a pretzel.

After doing this, he used his psychokinesis to probe, extracting Orochi's life essence from the meat chunks. It landed precisely in his hand.

"Done. Now, it's time to meet this so-called [GOD]."

King held Orochi's life essence in his right hand. His left hand rotated in the void, gathering the countless fragments of Orochi's flesh and forcibly compressing them into a crimson meatball that floated behind him.

The ground beneath his feet crumbled continuously as King descended straight down, quickly reaching the deepest part of the Monster Association underground.

The deepest level was surprisingly vast, likely built to accommodate Orochi's colossal size.

In the center of this wide underground space stood an ancient, circular altar, emitting a dim light.

Strange... my spiritual perception can't detect the altar?

Even though the light in the underground space was dim, for someone at King's level, spiritual perception could replace sight.

But for some reason, when his spiritual perception extended toward the altar, it vanished without a trace, like light entering a black hole.

King raised his hand. The surrounding energy responded to his call, gathering rapidly in his palm to form a dazzling golden sphere of light, bright as the sun.

With the illumination of the light sphere, he could clearly see the entire altar.

It appeared to be a simple stone altar emitting a dim, eerie glow. Murals were carved into the walls surrounding the altar.

King stood outside the altar, examining the murals.

A giant creature with many heads, resembling a dragon or serpent, lay on the ground. Beside it, countless tiny humans were kneeling in worship.

However, according to the mural, these tiny humans weren't worshiping the giant creature. And the creature wasn't sleeping; it was curled up in terror.

In front of both the creature and the humans stood a humanoid figure composed of countless twisted lines, looking down indifferently at the beings below.

Upon seeing the twisted humanoid figure, King suddenly felt dizzy. Although the dizziness lasted only for a split second, it put him on high alert.

To think just a mural could affect the current me... Is this the power of GOD...?

"However, after today, there will be no more gods in this world."

King remembered Orochi's words clearly.

"He has become very weak. Either I or you... if one of us brings the flesh and blood of the other to the altar, we can summon GOD and enter the dimensional space where He exists.

"At that time, the weakened GOD will surely be unable to withstand my power. I will devour Him and become the new God!"

God-Slayer, huh...

King extended his hand. The meatball formed from Orochi's flesh, held by psychokinesis, floated forward and landed in his palm.

Then, King adjusted his aura to its peak. Aside from not opening the Gate of Death directly, he was currently in his strongest state.

"Then let me see what this so-called [GOD] really is."
