Chapter 28 - Kitchen

-Elias Grayson:

The room was… overwhelming.

That was the only word my mind could land on as Sebastian and I stood there in silence, taking it all in. The ceiling arched high above us, carved stone and gilded lines twisting together like something torn straight out of an ancient royal legend. Tall windows let in pale light, curtains heavy and dark, the kind that probably weighed more than I did. Everything felt old, powerful, untouched—like the walls themselves were watching us.

We didn't say anything at first.

We just looked.

I swallowed, my fingers twitching at my side. "This is… insane," I muttered finally.

Sebastian let out a low breath, almost a quiet laugh. "Yeah. That's one way to put it."

We sat down after a while, the silence stretching again, thicker this time. My thoughts refused to stay still. They kept circling back to one thing, over and over, like a wound I couldn't stop pressing on.

The kiss.
