It's not simple to be happy.
It's not simple to stay unaware.
Arin didn't know what to do.
Even so, he tried his best to overcome his fears.
On the rooftop, Yurin stood calm and Honest.
She laughed lightly.
"Someone like you… who has been betrayed so many times by his own family… still wants to live with me?"
She laughed again.
Siho, the class rep, stayed silent.
She didn't understand what Yurin was trying to say.
Yurin turned toward Siho.
"Hey, Siho. Do you know that man standing beside you? His name is Arin."
Arin kept smiling.
"His mother died in an accident. Because of his fault," Yurin continued.
"His father remarried. From that day on, he became nothing but a nuisance."
Siho froze.
"Do you really think someone like him can be a good person?"
"He's a monster. A coward."
Silence.
Arin smiled wider.
"Ah… you know that much," he said calmly.
"And still… you betrayed me. Just because you wanted revenge."
Yurin said nothing.
Shua laughed.
"Know your place, loser."
They turned and left.
Arin stayed.
He sat down on the rooftop, looking up at the sky.
"What great weather," he whispered.
He turned to Siho.
"Hey… don't you want to go with them?"
"You helped the wrong side. You should go."
Siho didn't move.
"Arin," she said, "why are you letting her go?"
"Don't you have something to say to that bitch?"
"No," Arin replied.
"I don't want to say anything."
He smiled faintly.
"There's a saying," he continued.
"If you can't say something good… don't say anything at all."
"She's right. I was wrong," he said quietly.
"I thought if I loved her… stayed beside her… I would be healed."
He shook his head.
"But now I understand. I can't."
"She's strong. Not like me."
Siho raised her voice.
"Strong?"
She looked straight at Arin.
"Why do you think she's strong?"
"Because she said things that hurt you?"
"People who hurt others aren't strong."
"She's the coward. Not you."
Arin looked at her.
"So… what will you do now?" Siho asked.
"Just sit here?"
She paused, then asked softly,
"By the way… was she your first love?"
Arin nodded.
"Yes."
Siho burst into laughter.
"First love and already betrayed."
"That's hilarious. Hahaha."
Arin laughed too.
"Huh… huh… laugh as much as you like."
Then he asked,
"Tell me, Siho… why did you stay?"
"Did you think I'd do something stupid?"
Siho smiled.
"No," she said.
"I stayed because I wanted to."
"Not because you needed me."
She looked at him gently.
"You don't need anyone," she added.
They both laughed. The atmosphere was silent rather than sad.Quite some time pass and when Arin finally cried…
Siho stayed.
After quite some time, Arin and Siho returned to their classes.
During the lunch break they stayed too long, they are late that why the teacher punished them.
They stood for the whole class.
Both of them laughed quietly and stayed calm.
"Are you always this fun," Siho asked, "or is today special?"
Arin smiled.
"Not really like this," he replied. "But today… I don't know. Maybe I look fun because you're with me."
Arin hesitated, then asked,
"Hey, Siho… can I be your friend?"
Siho froze. Then she covered her mouth and laughed.
"You're such a stupid boy," she said. "I thought we were friends from the beginning."
She looked at him carefully.
"Why are you so drenched?" she asked.
They both start walking with each other after the school ended.
"So, Arin," Siho asked, "do you live with your family?"
"No," Arin replied. "My hometown is far from here. I live in a boarding house… with an older woman."
Siho started mocking him.
"Then introduce her to me someday."
"Hey," Arin said, "you don't usually talk this much with others. Why are you so friendly with me?"
Siho walked a little faster, then stopped.
She turned back and looked at Arin.
She smiled and whispered,
"When you meet someone kinder than you, be gentle and humble with them."
Her thoughts were unclear.
Arin didn't understand what she meant by someone kind.
He didn't ask.
Soon, they reached a crossing.
Their homes were in different directions.
They said goodbye.
Arin come back to home, before he opens the door he noticed something off. He noticed that someone in the garden is plating something he rused quickly. He saw a girl. He asked ,"Are you familiar with this place? Why are you planting vegetables and trees here?"
The girl wore a white dress.
Brown hair. Calm eyes.
"Yes," she replied quietly.
"This is Nyra's house."
She looked at him.
"My name is Lily Ashford. I'm Nyra's late cousin."
At that moment, Nyra returned.
"Hey, Arin, what's up?" Nyra said.
"Did you bring your pretty girlfriend?"
She didn't notice Lily at first.
"Nyra," Lily called softly. "Sis."
Nyra froze. Then her eyes widened.
Is that you Lily, isn't it quite some time.
She smiled towards lily and said.why did you come? Arin just standing there. Then Nyra invited Lily to house. Lily asked Arin his name again.
"I'm Arin," he said softly. "Sorry for earlier."
"Nice to meet you, Lily," he added, then went to take a shower, feeling tired.
Nyra and Lily stayed behind.
"Tell me, Lily," Nyra asked seriously, "why are you here?"
Lily replied calmly,
"Within two days, the two worlds will overlap."
Nyra stayed silent.
"Everyone will receive a fragment of magic," Lily continued.
"Two years later, a new Demon Lord will be born."
Nyra frowned.
"My job," Lily said, "is to find a candidate who can defeat the Demon Lord."
She looked at Nyra.
"That's why I'm here."
Then she sighed lightly.
"But what I found instead… was a queen wearing filthy clothes, preparing dinner for an ordinary high school boy."
She smiled faintly.
"That's rather disturbing."
