Hey everyone! I wanted to take a moment to clarify the timeline and some lore adjustments I've made for this story.
If you've been checking the official wikis, you might notice some age differences. This is a very small deliberate AU choice to make the story flow better for our protagonist, Kaito. It's my biggest mistake for not ensuring the right age of Toshinori. The only thing changed is Almight retuned to Japan really late.
The Major Change: All Might's Homecoming
In the original anime, All Might returned to Japan as a young man. In this story, All Might spent nearly his entire career in America, becoming the world's Number 1 Hero abroad. He didn't make his Grand Homecoming Debut in Japan until he was 45 years old.
Why did I do this?
* The Ashita Fire (10 Years Ago): This event happened on when All Might returned to Japan. At this time, All Might was 45 and Kaito was 15 (The Soot Guy/Hero X).
* The Present Day: This puts All Might at 55 and Kaito at 25.
* The Big Bro Dynamic: By making Kaito 25, he fits perfectly into the 'Pro Generation' age group (Hawks, Mirko). He can act as a 'Big Brother' or senior figure to the 15-year-old UA students (Deku, Bakugo) while still being a 'normal' young adult trying to live a 9-to-5 life.
Hero X vs. The Veteran:
By having All Might return as an established veteran, it makes the debut of Hero X even more impactful. Imagine the world's greatest legend arriving for a homecoming parade, only for a mysterious "Hero X" to finish the job in 3 seconds before All Might can even land.
I hope this clears up the math! We're sticking with this timeline to keep the character dynamics sharp and the stakes high. Thanks for sticking with Kaito on his quest for an ordinary life!"
I've alread updated Chapter 15.
ps. Thank you for the person who pointed this out to me. I don't want a mentor/father figure Kaito. He should be big bro Kaito.
