Chapter 3 - Chapter - 3, aura framing first day at school

The classroom of Musutafu West Elementary smelled like a mix of cherry blossoms, floor wax, and the vague, lingering scent of apple juice that someone definitely spilled under a carpet.

It was chaos. Pure, unadulterated, four-year-old chaos.

In one corner, a small boy with messy green hair and giant eyes was clutching an All Might action figure like his life depended on it. He was currently trying to explain the "Justice Smash" to a girl who was more interested in eating a crayon.

In the center of the room, a spiky-haired blonde kid was standing on top of a building block castle.

"I'm the leader!" the blonde kid shouted, pointing a finger at his two "minions" who were busy nodding like bobbleheads. "When I get my Quirk, I'm gonna be the Number One Hero! Better than All Might! So you guys better follow me, got it?!"

"Yeah, Katchan! You're the coolest!"

The teacher, a woman who looked like she survived on caffeine and prayers, clapped her hands loudly. "Okay, everyone! To your seats! Eyes on me! We have a new friend joining us today."

The toddlers scrambled to their colorful floor mats. The blonde kid…Bakugo sat down with a huff, crossing his arms and looking like he was already bored with the concept of friendship.

"Everyone, this is Riko. She just moved here to Musutafu," the teacher said, gesturing to the door.

RIKO POV

I walked into the room, and for a second, I thought I'd walked into a petting zoo.

Twenty pairs of giant, watery eyes stared at me. It was weird. Being this small meant everyone looked like a giant, or a weirdly shaped potato. I scanned the room. Green hair? Check. Angry blonde pomeranian? Check. Yep, I'm in the right place.

"Go ahead, Riko. Introduce yourself," the teacher encouraged, giving me a gentle pat on the back.

I stepped forward, stuffed my hands into my pockets, and gave the class a look that said I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.

"Yo," I started, my voice sounding way too high-pitched for the cool vibe I was going for. "I'm Riko. I like curry, slaying roaches, and peace and quiet. My dad drives a truck, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one here who knows how to make rice without burning the house down. Don't touch my stuff, and we'll get along just fine. Peace."

I did a little two-finger salute and headed for an empty mat in the back.

The classroom was silent for a beat. The green-haired kid (Midoriya) looked at me like I was a puzzle he couldn't solve. Bakugo, on the other hand, just squinted at me.

"Hey!" Bakugo's voice broke the silence as I sat down. "What kind of intro was that? And what was that about roach-slaying?"

I leaned back, looking at him. "It's a high-stakes profession, kid. You wouldn't understand the pressure of protecting a kitchen from the Raka dynasty."

"Kid?! I'm the same age as you!" Bakugo stood up, stomping his foot. "And don't act so cool. You're just a girl. I'm gonna be the strongest hero ever! Do you even have a Quirk?"

I looked at my hands. Still no explosions. Just chubby fingers. "Not yet, blondie. But when I do, it's gonna be a blast. Literally."

Bakugo scoffed, looking at Midoriya, who was staring at me with pure awe. "Whatever! oi Deku, stop looking at her like that, she's weird!"

"B-but Katchan," Midoriya stammered,

Later, during "Free Play," I was sitting by the window trying to figure out how to work a set of Legos when a shadow loomed over me. It was the Pomeranian and his green-haired shadow.

"Hey, Riko-chan," Midoriya said shyly. "I'm Izuku. Do you... do you like heroes?"

"They're alright," I said, clicking a blue brick onto a red one. "A bit flashy for my taste. I prefer the ones who stay in the shadows... or the edgy type."

Bakugo pushed past Midoriya, leaning into my personal space. "Listen, Newbie. I don't care if you're 'hot shit' or whatever. In this class, I'm the boss. Got it?"

I looked him dead in the eye. He didn't have his explosions yet, but he had that same "I'm the protagonist" energy. I leaned in closer, a smirk tugging at my lips.

"Boss, huh? That's a big title for a guy who's still wearing Velcro shoes, Bakugo."

Midoriya gasped, audibly terrified. Bakugo's face went a shade of red that matched the "A" on the alphabet chart.

"YOU—! HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?!"

"I'm a psychic," I lied effortlessly. "Also, it's written on your lunchbox."

Bakugo looked down at his lunchbox, then back at me, his tiny fists shaking. He didn't know whether to scream or be impressed. Honestly? This school thing might be fun after all.
