Chapter 46 - Facing the Orcs.

"Favorability: Once it reaches one hundred, you can be married as a spouse. Tasks need to be unlocked based on identity and status, and upon completing these tasks, the spouse identity will be unlocked. Females with mismatched identities will become concubines and cannot become spouses. Only concubines and spouses can bear you offspring."

"Concubine: Absolutely loyal to you, never betraying or abandoning you, and can bear you children. Assists you in any matters related to life and work."

"Spouse: Absolutely loyal to you, never betraying or abandoning you, and can bear you children. Assists you in any matters related to life and work, with each spouse increasing crafting and gathering speed by 10%. Spouses generate double life essence, with a two-hour cooldown. With one spouse, the base essence produced is one; with two spouses, it's two; and so on."

After reading this, Arthas's expression changed again. In this situation, wouldn't having a hundred spouses mean generating a hundred units of life essence each time? However, it seems that only females with names can become spouses; passersby on the street cannot.

"So what do we do now?" Aurelia freed herself from the man's embrace; occasional tenderness is fine, but being lost in emotions is not a safe position. The surrounding orcs were still desperately fleeing, dodging the angry red dragon's pursuit. Muradin was also cooperating with the hill dwarves to hunt the orcs, who had previously suppressed the dwarves within Ironforge. Now they finally had a chance to breathe.

"First, we defeat the orcs, and then we return to Riverdale to meet with the Alliance troops." Arthas knew that haste makes waste, so taking it slow was key; they had already obtained what they needed.

"Watch out!" Arthas raised his shield to block an axe flying toward Aurelia, casually throwing the Avenger's Shield.

The most urgent task was still to repel the orcs; if they could do that, then Arthas would have ample time to develop. Just like he said, the lord's lord is not the king's lord. The lord's territory holds immense power, akin to a small kingdom. This inheritance has been passed down since humans established their empires, and this system was seen as a necessary measure at that time.

On one hand, the king did not have the energy to govern so much, and on the other, it was to win over the subordinates. The idea is beautiful, but the reality is cruel. The reason nobles are nobles is that they do not need to do anything; the civilians below will pay taxes to them, living well. As for the life and death of the commoners? Not many nobles care about that, especially since there are various knights under the lords, each managing different areas; the responsibilities are layered and can easily lead to a breakdown in control.

It is hard to reclaim the power of the nobility. Currently, nearly all kingdoms are governed with the assistance of the great lords, and some talent is selected from among the nobles. To make them turn their guns on each other, one must have substantial leverage. If they were to continue ceding land and power, they might as well not overthrow the system. True commoners are very few, pitifully rare, and there are almost no talents to utilize.

Arthas's goal is to establish his own dictatorial kingdom, with capable subordinates who will obey him. He can provide their descendants with sufficient living conditions, material, education, promotion, and other benefits—conditions that are insignificant to the nobles, as all positions are monopolized by them. However, for the commoners, it is different; at least it allows them to strive for something.

Everything must be selected from within the common people. Meritorious subjects can be given preferential treatment, but the phenomenon of small kingdoms existing within a large kingdom is absolutely not allowed.

The king must govern everything, and the land beneath the sky must belong to the king. Short-lived, he also needs to consider various systems to safeguard the royal power, but Arthas does not need that; he is destined for immortality and capable of being a dictator.

A kingdom, a voice, one command, power operates, and the war machine continues to run, producing astonishing productivity. Currently, the human kingdom's system is a collaboration; when the royal family weakens, lords will oppress it. It cannot be said to be an overthrow, but the feeling of being suppressed by subordinates is definitely unpleasant.

In the future, the plague will break out, and the undead will attack. As long as enemies are killed, their bodies can be resurrected as warriors. The undead using a swarm tactic is terrifying. This tactic, where battles sustain battles, requires no logistical support, is extremely exaggerated compared to living troops; the undead plague is practically a nightmare.

Also, the Burning Legion invades—demons that have destroyed countless worlds; wherever they go, they bring amazing corruption that greatly damages the land. For a long time, perhaps even ten years, the corruption may not be removed. No one dares to eat forcibly planted crops. Not wanting to become the Lich King or a death knight in the future, Arthas must strengthen his own power, improve his inherent strength, develop his territorial influence, and unite with other powerful races under him.

All this is just to allow himself to become a person who can enjoy his life to the fullest extent, not just a death knight hanging by a thread. Whew! Onyxia casually tossed out a few fireballs, reducing the rampaging orcs ready to charge at her to ashes, her black hair dancing in the wind, and her staff waved with an exotic elegance.

"You are the first human to make me this curious."

"Thank you; you need to stay by my side for a while, just in case," Arthas added, as if explaining.

"Hehe!" Onyxia laughed animatedly, her bosom bouncing, her beautiful eyes holding a hint of charm, "No need to explain; my father might not necessarily fall here. When the time comes, can you resist him?"

"I certainly have my ways," Arthas was not worried; even if he was, it wouldn't help. To him, he had no enmity with Deathwing, they were just using each other. As for the feud between Deathwing and other dragons, what does it have to do with him, Arthas?
