Chapter 9 - Entrapment

Inside a large modern living room.

A muscular man with short brown hair and dark eyes— lay sprawled on a massive couch, with a blonde-haired beauty with brown eyes lying between his legs.

She wore only a fishnet dress with a g-string and no bra.

There were also multiple rough-looking men seated randomly around the room, smoking, drinking, and looking menacing.

"Has he not contacted you still ?" the burly man spoke calmly.

"No, he hasn't!" Rebecca responded with indignation.

She had boasted that her 'man-toy' would be running over the moment all this started.

However, not only did he not run over, he didn't even call her to see if she was alright.

He was supposed to be her 'loyal dog'.

Someone she fully had under control.

But with the world ending, he didn't even call ?

That was unforgivable.

Rebecca's expression contorted into a deep frown.

She could feel that Tristan's patience was waning.

"Strange. Considering how that loser is head over heels for you---

I expected him to run over here soon as all this started." Tristan muttered with a frown.

"Unless he's already dead.

A shame.

I would have loved to have some real fun with him."

"Why not call him up just to make sure ?"

"Okay. I will." Rebecca muttered reluctantly.

The idea of her having to call him when he should be the one calling and apologising didn't sit well with her.

But knowing Tristan, she knew objection was futile.

So she scrolled through her contact and located the number labelled 'CASH COW'.

The call rang for some time before it connected.

Rebecca was flabbergasted.

'So he's alive ?' she thought incredulously.

Tristan, seeing the call connect, got excited as he signalled for the room to quiet down.

*Hello?* Caspian's calm voice came from the other end of the call.

"Caspian, are you alright ? ----

The world has gone to hell. I was so worried about you." Rebecca uttered with a shaky voice veiled in feigned concern.

*Sorry about that dear. Hope you are okay ?*

Rebecca was about to respond when she noticed Tristan gesture for her to lure him over.

She nodded at him in response.

She already guessed Caspian hadn't rushed to save her like a loyal dog because he was hiding in a corner from zombies.

But what if she's in danger ?

Won't he rush to save her ?

"Caspian, my love. I need your help right now please." Rebecca's voice trembled through the phone. The fright was audible in her voice.

*Tell me, my love. Are you in danger ?* Caspian's urgent and frantic voice rang through the phone, layered with worry.

Tristan, and all the rough-looking men seeing this scene, couldn't help but chuckle.

"I'm trapped inside my house with multiple zombies outside. Please Caspian. Please come save me …sob sob." Rebecca lamented.

*Don't worry, my love. I'm on my way right now!*

"Hurry, please, baby. Please hurry…. sob sob." She sobbed pitifully on the phone.

*I'm coming right now!!* Caspian voiced urgently on the other end of the call before the call cut out abruptly.

Beep.

"Hahahaha!!..... Such a loser!" came a scornful laugh out of one of the other men inside.

And the rest all burst into laughter.

Rebecca wore a wide smile on her face, proud of her immaculate performance.

Tristan wore a crooked grin, as he moved his right hand into Rebecca's lower private region on the couch.

"Hm.. " Rebecca moaned softly.

He was having fun with her as he himself was deep in his own thoughts.

His mind sank into remembrance.

Being two of the formerly equal giant conglomerates in the state of Newhaven.

Both the Shade's and the Albus's were always in competition.

And that competition transferred to the children.

The two heirs attended the best schools, which happened to be the same schools.

But at every junction, Caspian always outshined him.

And he was made to look like a pathetic failure.

Through preschool, middle, high school and even when being admitted to colleges---

Caspian Shade took all the glory.

It also didn't help that the Shade Conglomerate was steadily growing stronger than Albus.

Tristan's father was always angry, and Tristan bore the brunt of his anger.

That was how his hatred for Caspian 'the prodigy' started to brew.

And this hatred soon turned to rage.

He needed a way to destroy the architect of his misfortunes, or at least gain any sort of win over him.

That's when an idea came to mind, in the form of Rebecca.

Caspian had pursued her through high school, buying her all sorts of gifts till she agreed.

However, those who knew her were aware of what type of girl she was.

He made contact with her, to use her to get back at him.

Caspian kept spending on Rebecca----

While Tristan was enjoying all the benefits and the pleasure that comes with finally getting a win.

He planned to completely devastate Caspian in an accidental big reveal the previous day---

Where Caspian was scheduled to come see Rebecca only to catch them both in the act.

He was eager to relish the look on Caspians face----

But that experience never came. Only the apocalypse and zombies.

But he wasn't dissuaded. No. He was elated.

Because this apocalypse had made him into a God, with an SS-grade talent.

His strength was steadily increasing with every hunt.

Now all he had to do was wait for Caspian to show up ---

And using Rebecca's unique gift.

He would make sure to completely crush him.

And if it turns out he also has a talent, he will find out what it is, and deal with it accordingly.

Surely, it can't be stronger than his SS-grade talent.

Caspian's Penthouse Floor.

Caspian stood by the penthouse elevator, fully decked in his Kevlar gear, with a shotgun in his left hand--

He slowly brought down the phone from his ear as he clenched it in his fist—

His jaw tightened---face contorted with veins standing out along his temples as he muttered through clenched teeth---his voice laced with murderous intent---

"Oh don't you worry Rebecca _"

"Soon..... I'll save you."

.....

"I'll save all of you!"
